Political Forum rules...or not?
While I am not an active poster in the Political Forum, I do visit it whenever I have an ungodly urge to make my head explode. Some recently thread closings have piqued my curiosity as to the reason why...
So, I checked the rules. Here's what's stated:
It seems to me that if something is going to be referenced as breaking the rules, the above statement should be altered, and fall under the "Rules" category, rather than the "These are not hard rules, rather recommendations" category.
Yet again, a thread started by someone who has not read the rules.

- Similarly though just posting an article and link, particularly as the first post in a thread, w/o any additional commentary to continue the dialog is discouraged. If it's good enough to post it's worth commenting on as well.

It's public information. You need to know where to find it though. 
I've spoken to the mods of Politics and we're in agreement with emanon. We're going to change the language to state that it is a rule that you need comment when posting a link or article to start a thread.
