Political Forum rules...or not?

While I am not an active poster in the Political Forum, I do visit it whenever I have an ungodly urge to make my head explode. Some recently thread closings have piqued my curiosity as to the reason why...

Yet again, a thread started by someone who has not read the rules.
So, I checked the rules. Here's what's stated:

- Similarly though just posting an article and link, particularly as the first post in a thread, w/o any additional commentary to continue the dialog is discouraged. If it's good enough to post it's worth commenting on as well.

It seems to me that if something is going to be referenced as breaking the rules, the above statement should be altered, and fall under the "Rules" category, rather than the "These are not hard rules, rather recommendations" category.

Let me see what the feeling is of the Political Forum mods. I will update you when I've received some feedback. (Sometimes not all the mods check the feedback forum).

Thanks - I appreciate the reply. No big deal, it just struck me as kind of odd.

Tell us who they are so we can make fun of them here.

It's public information. You need to know where to find it though. ;)

I've spoken to the mods of Politics and we're in agreement with emanon. We're going to change the language to state that it is a rule that you need comment when posting a link or article to start a thread.

Good job, sir! Now I'll go back to lurking in the shadows.
