Why was my thread closed?

I posted a thread offering a licensed copy of Malcolm in the Middle, the Complete Series, on the exchange forum and it was closed for no reason. The person who closed it accussed me of being a bootlegger. He needs to check his facts though. The set is available commercially in both Region 2 and Region 4. It is produced by the same vendor in both regions.

It is available on Amazon in the UK (shipped by them), or Screenpop in the Australian market.

Your best first step in this scenario would be to email the moderator and make your point in a succinct manner. If he/she has made a mistake, there is no reason not to rectify it.

I've PM-ed the mod in question and asked him to respond either via email to the OP or here via a post. One thing to remember is that not all the mods check Feedback regularly.

Well that doesn't seem good.

It's ridiculous. Reading this subforum should be requirement number one of all mods.

Re: Why was my thread closed?

If the OP had PM'd me, I would have been happy to oblige a response. A PM triggers an automatic e-mail if setup that way, hence my appearance here to explain.

The thread in question was reported to me as a bootleg and was closed.

The OP could have explained the situation and I would have gladly investigated it and re-opened the thread. I get several complaints of bootlegs. Being a new member, who joined 3 years ago and has only made a few posts sends up a red flag.

If this item is legitimate, please feel free to post again.

Perhaps a comment by the "closing mod" in a thread might help, so that the OP would know who to PM?

Yes, I know in this case it would be possible to poke around and learn that there is a single moderator for that forum, but a simple comment could make it easier. Even more-so for forums that have multiple mods.
