Unsticky thread suggestion
I would like to suggest that this thread be unstickied:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-bargain...thread-ii.html
It's completely irrelevant these days. It's had zero posts in the last year and 4 posts in the last 2 years. It's simply occupying space at the top of the forum now. Digital Eyes doesn't even exist anymore.
Also, the thread was started by undesirable forum elements.

Re: Unsticky thread suggestion
While we're at it, we might as well unstick my thread:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-clubs/1...-club-faq.html
It's woefully out of date, and I'm never going to update it. But holy crap, I used to put a lot of work into that thread to make it useful and look nice. I wish I had that kind of time these days.

Re: Unsticky thread suggestion
Thanks, guys.
If you're talking about the Columbia House thread, there's frankly no need and no point. If it were still useful in some way to maintain that FAQ, I would probably find a way to find the time. But it's far, far from the heyday of DVD, and why would people spend the effort and hassle of cycling a CH membership for a per DVD average of $6.42 when DVD's are in the bargain bin for under $5 or for pennies Used? The last few months of posts in this thread pretty much sums it up:

One more unsticky request.
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/tech-talk/5...d-rom-faq.html
I'm sure this thread was super-useful back when DVD-ROM drives were new. Now, 13 years later, most of the info in there doesn't even apply to or work for modern operating systems and hardware.

If you are using a hardware decoder the slowest your CPU should be is 133MHz with no less than 32MB of RAM.

Re: Unsticky thread suggestion
I just noticed the "[Edited by Jason Northrup on 04-02-01 at 07:46 PM]" text at the bottom of that DVD-ROM post.
Isn't that the edit text from when we were back on the UBB forum software?
Thank goodness we're now on something much more modern, vB 3.7, released in 2007.
