My order for The Hobbit 3D is backordered. We'll see what happens I guess.

I did. It says in my order history that they expect new stock in on 4/30.

Got an e-mail from CH today, 26 days after I placed the order. Doesn't look good. I guess that's one way to prevent customers from getting a sweet deal on a 3D Blu-ray.

We're sorry to inform you that your recent order or automatic Director's Selection shipment for HOBBIT:AN 3D BD is temporarily out-of-stock. We expect to receive additional stock within 30 days.

Once additional stock becomes available, we will ship the item to you. If you wish to cancel your order, please reply to this email to let us know.

If we are unable to ship the item in an additional 30 days, the order will be canceled. At that time, you may reorder the item. You will not be billed for the item until it is shipped. If you prepaid for the order, we will issue a credit in the event that the order is canceled.

I wonder if they're going to run another murderous promotion for Memorial Day. For those that don't know, they ran a buy 1 get 70% off plus TBPs last year. Needless to say, people, including myself racked up HUNDREDS on BPs.

Yeah, I took part in that one! I had 296 BP at one point, which I doubt I'll ever top. I really should open a new account in preparation for any super deals that come along, so I can fulfill a new account...

It's already started! I got an urgent email with a preview Memorial Day sale. They have a massive deal with 10.99 DVDs. That's one of the best deals this year.
They really have stopped any good deals since they screwed up last year. I haven't ordered from them for a long time.

LAME! That sucks. Yeah, I haven't ordered from them in ages either. I missed the last big deal snafu, where the $10 coupon had no minimum. I know people placed tons of orders then...

What a non-sale, at least for anybody interested in bluray. Sigh.

Why are people still buying DVDs?! I wish that format would die already so that the deals will be on Blu-rays instead, and that TV shows that aired in HD will actually get HD releases.

I don't expect DVD to completely die and whither away, but I can't believe that CH still treats Blu-ray like the red-headed stepchild. Its presence should at least be equal to that of DVD, if not greater. I wish I had opened more than 2 accounts when they briefly allowed BD's as enrollments last year...

My DVD enrollments pretty much are always TV titles. Doctor Who mainly, but sometimes other TV seasons. I won't buy a DVD movie anymore, except for dirt cheap ones like $3 at Big Lots occasionally.

It is likely not CH fault. They probably cannot get the promotions/deals on Blu-ray like they do on dvd.

CH $7.95 DVDs. Does any one have a FS code to sweeten the deal?

$7.95 IS the deal. Happy shopping for DVDs. You're in the minority, at least on this forum thread.

And even worse, you have to buy one at full price first.

You have to first buy one at regular price before the 70% off kicks in for any additional title.

You also can't buy another 19 titles at 70% off. After 12 or 13, the next one becomes full price and then back to 70% off again. That makes the deal even worse.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Not much of a sale this year. There is a 20% off order code. Says for both DVD and Blu-ray
