It could just be my perception (or something completely unrelated), but it does seem like the main pages have been loading more quickly over the last ~10 mins or so.

Already on my second avatar!

I bet my avatar could kick your avatar's ass!

Gil Jawetz 12-07-04 02:47 PM

I don't think you want to get into it with my avatar. He doesn't have a pretty history.

das Monkey 12-07-04 02:50 PM

At the risk of spoiling anything, I'll drag my avatar out of the bar before anything happens. Rest assured, though, you do not want to rumble with it.

Im apathetic on those things.. but i click so much, i never let the mouse rest long enough to see them

but judging from these threads... it seems like there have been more people in here talking about how much they lose those things, than people against them

meh.. doesnt make much difference to me one way or the other

dick_grayson 12-07-04 03:36 PM

i've been away for a week and came back to the new format. refreshing doesn't do shit and there's more ad crap here than on any site I've seen. I hope things are fixed and this place doesn't go the way of the cash-cow milking referral site

Gil Jawetz 12-07-04 03:43 PM

what do you mean refreshing doesn't do shit? and the only additional ad AFAIK is the one under the first post.

when I refresh on the "new posts" page, it's just the same list. I have to go back to the main forum page and re-click the new posts. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Either way, I liked it when the ads were dvd related. all the cheaptickets and stuff is distracting and unwelcoming.

Welcome back!

However, you clearly need to surf more..

bigsoos 12-07-04 08:28 PM

why doesn't the site remember my log in information? I tried clearing my cookies, but it still logs me out after a while.

Yakuza Bengoshi 12-07-04 09:24 PM

Issue: I use Safari to reach this site. Previously, DVDTalk remembered me. Now, however, I have to log in each time I visit the site even though I click "remember me" when I do log in. I'm not blocking cookies so what gives?

strife 12-07-04 09:25 PM

remember me log in required you to delete your cookies (only to dvdtalk) and will fix the problem.

BizRodian 12-07-04 10:32 PM

I don't like being able to choose my own title! it's too much responsibility!

Deftones 12-07-04 11:00 PM

So what's the fix w/ the constant logging in issue? I've cleared my cookies throught the site, and I still have to log in every time. It's pain in the ass.

Myster X 12-07-04 11:27 PM

Why can't I add an avatar or edit my title? :(

I agree. I had to log on just to write this reply. Annoying to say the least.

Avatars are just being tested by Mods and Reviewers. And Editing titles isn't a feature we're going to offer just yet.

Tscott 12-08-04 09:47 AM

On the old boards, when a mod changed a thread title the old thread title still appeared within the original post in small bolded letters- thus clueing in the observant that the current thread title wasn't the original posters intent. I've noticed that this is no longer the case. (I'd link to the thread I first saw this in, but it's in the adult forum (the thongs/tongs thread).) Anyway, it could get confusing if title changes are used in the humorous way they have been in the past as there's no visual clue to indicate the thread's been tampered with.

Oh, and speaking of the adult forum, I'm assuming you're aware it's no longer showing links to adult dvd reviews at the top of the page, but the normal reviews that are everywhere else?

JANK 12-08-04 12:40 PM

I wants a snazzy title too

titles are based on number of posts (with the exception of some people who have received their titles by servicing the mods)

you cant set your own

FinkPish 12-08-04 02:48 PM

Correction, you can't set your own anymore.

(I know this is just asking to have mine set back to normal)

Trigger 12-08-04 03:17 PM
