The Official Forum Upgrade Bug/Issue Thread

While you are all welcome to post feedback threads about the upgrade, I need 1 thread where I can clearly identify and address all the outsanding issues of the upgrade. Here are the issues I have identified so far.

OPEN ISSUES
- The last post title of adult is showing up on front page [I'll see what I can do to address that]
- Links/underlines are showing clearly [I'll see what we can do]
- Ads under first post [It's something we're testing so bear with us]
- Search index isn't complete [Still building has been since last night]
- Font Size Issue [Need to Investigate]

CLOSED ISSUES
- Make it so quick reply does require another click - FIXED
- Min post legnth is too long - FIXED
- Member Titles Aren't Updated - FIXED
- Old Smilies are Gone - All the custom ones are still there, standard ones have been updated in the upgrade
- The blue bars between posts are too dark - Lightened Them Up. I Might still dink with the color scheme but at least now it's readable.

OTHER ISSUES CHANGES
- Poker/Vegas is now under Other

If you have a bug or isssue. Please clearly post it (without a diatribe) here and I'll add it to our list or address it. If we can keep this thread as clear and focused on the issues/bugs as possiable it will enable me to really address them.

Geoff - For user titles try...

usergroup manager - click go next to the "registered" usergroup - scroll down to "Can Use Custom Title" and make sure it's set to yes.

I'd like it if we could see the post count of everyone as you read threads, and I'd also prefer the "subscribe to this thread" link to be back down at the bottom of each thread. I know you can still do that, and that option is fine, but I wish we could have it the other way also. Other than those two things, I like what I've seen so far.

Copied from my other thread since it didn't "make the list"

The View|Text Size command (in IE) no longer affects the font size in the actual bulletin board area (it still does in the ads and links on top) UNLESS I activate the the "Accessibility Options" and "Ignore Font Size specified on web page." I'm no expert on HTML. but I think this is an issue of fixed vs relative font sizes specified in the code. I'm old (who would have guessed) and tend to use a pretty large font size, others obviously prefer smaller.

Can the bulletin board go back to relative font sizes so we can all "roll our own?"

Here is a new one:

When I subscribe to a thread, and someone responds to it, instead of getting just one email, I've been betting two, three, four, five emails per response to the thread I subscribed to.

As was mentioned by twikoff (in the other thread), when you post in a thread it'll trigger the "new post" flag and bold the thread for yourself (last poster). It should only trigger it when someone else has a new post.

To clear it you have to go back into the thread even though you were the last poster.

is it normal to be getting "sponsored links" right below the first post of threads?

Have to login each time after closing IE. For that matter, if I open up a new IE window and go to DVDTalk, I have to login again even though I have an another window open and am logged in.

“New thread” button missing in the actual thread pages.

Shit Geoff, I like what has been done.

However, I am sure I have many agreeing with me on with ads under the first post. Othewrwise, so far so good. Thanks for the great effort!

It's not going to happen today, but at some point there will be a paid option for the forum and that paid option will of course remove the intra thread ad

I don't know if this is a software issue and it's extremely minor, but after you post to a thread and go to the thread list page that thread is now marked as having new posts even though the only new post is the one you just made. I hate to get all excited about a thread getting new replies only to click on it and find out that it's just some garbage that I posted. If this isn't addressed I shall be forced to put myself on Ignore.

Kilcher suggested that I specify my browser. I find the forums pages hard to read, but I'm still not sure if it's because of the bolding, the underscores, or the different font. But everything is running together into a mass of blue. I had to increase the font size twice to read it easily. I'm using Mozilla 1.0.1.

The new look is shaping up pretty nice.
