I was thinking HTML in terms of <s and >s. I believe a PHP function called strip_tags was used in the past to remove those tags. ASCII codes and entity names wouldn't be affected by that. I'm guessing now that the forum is using htmlentities to convert characters to their ASCII/entity equivalent, so instead of displaying a non-breaking space, it's converting the ampersand to &.

now i see your picture in mozilla and IE but still no buttons for mozilla.

what antivirus/firewall/security apps are you running?

Negatory. Not the end of the world, since I couldn't see them on the old version of the forum, but it's nice to see all the buttons and icons...

In mozilla there are no buttons not even the instant message butoons.

taking a wild guess that you have the images cached.. and IE is smart enough to use them

go clear your temp internet files and see if you lose em ;)

ok smarty pants. But i did turn off the ad blocking etc from norton and Ie is still ok but mozilla isnt there.

Why do the ad banners under the first post screw up the display of the whole first page ? All I get to see is the first post on the first page, and cannot see any other posts to the thread unless
(A) I go to page 2, which skips over the first 25 responses or
(B) I click the reply button and read the responses there from bottom to top.

I use IE from work, if that makes a difference.

This sucks :(
