But the animated ones are the most fun!

I think this one is safe for all. You really have to look to figure it out:

I personally don't really care one way or another if we do or don't have avatars. But for those who are indicating that it would in essence be a 'deal breaker', and cause them to leave the forum, I have two responses:

1. If you are going to leave, leave. You don't need to threaten or announce it.

2. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

Seriously though, if Geoff does decide to allow avatars, I'm sure it would turn into something that most folks in here would barely even notice after a week or two.
It's really not that big of a deal.

Oh wow. I love that. I should use my super-avatar-having abilities and steal it from you!

Maybe it should be more of a 16x9 ratio.

What if we're DEEPLY offended by them?

But i agree, i don't like them, but if we have them it isn't a big deal. I'd get over it.

If Geoff enables avatars, this is going to be mine:

one more vote for "hate em." too much going on, that is one big reason why i've always liked dvdtalk so much; it is simple and sticks to the basics. (well, except now...)

but if they do get enabled, i will definitely be turning them off.

Let me know when us regular schlubs can sign up for the avatars. I have no idea what I want, but I think the ones so far are ok.

I found that online the other day, and I think it probably the angriest baby I've ever seen, and funny as hell. Someone had also photoshopped this, which is even funnier:

I'd vote yes for Avatars. 75x75 seems like a good size. 50x50 is too small.

Hopefully, there'd be a way to keep porno and George W. Bush avatars off the site, however.

Unless it's in combination, right?
