The reason I like Avatars is that they help me to quickly:
a) locate my OWN posts (visual is MUCH easier than reading User Names)
b) recognize certain Users' posts, by their Avatars, who I particularly enjoy reading — and conversely, avoid others without having to place them on an IGNORE list
This is a huge disappointment.

I'm pretty sure that avatars are not going to show up on dvdtalk... at least not unless they are included for future premium paid members... seems like there was a discussion about it a long time ago where we were all told that it was a decision made to help reduce bandwidth usage.

AVATARS SUCK
i believe most people agree avatars are a terrible idea
btw.. we have threads for what you like and dont like about the new software
really, no reason to start a new thread for every thought that comes into your head

well, I find them deeply offensive...oh wait, wrong thread...
as I was toolin' around before hitting the sack, I noticed that there's a Show Avatars option in our User CP, so the people who don't like 'em could leave that unchecked.
personally, they don't bother me.
NOW, not listing the title of the episode in the thread title over at TV Talk...THAT bothers me...

It can also add personality to the poster.

those ads by google have been here all along.. and they are text based
avatars are images, and require much more bandwidth

but the extra bandwidth hit to the site caused by the kids that want to see cartoons next to their name, will be felt by us all

Another vote for none.
