I like how the color scheme turned out except I was hoping for a little more grey; white seems a bit excessive. Doesn't really matter since I'm going to come here regardless.

although.. Geoff did mention that the search is still indexing (2/3 done)
so for anyone that notices any slowness, that could be part of it.

I for one am looking forward to it

Hmmm, now how do I turn on my profanity filter...

The one big complaint I have is that everything is bigger and bulker. I'm sure I'll adjust after time, it just doesn't feel that streamlined.

My only complaint (other than my personal resistance to any type of change in my routine) is that I'm having to log in every time I visit the page, even when the "remember me" box is checked.

I don't like the preview of the thread when you hold your cursur over a thread title for a few seconds. If I'm trying to read something and my cursur sits near it the pop up window blocks what I'm reading.

I like it. Just don't have your cursor nearby the thread title and problem solved.

This is my only major gripe as well. There seems to be a lot of space between posts or thread title lists. That is partially compensated for with the use of drop down menus to hide some buttons, but it still appears to have a lot of dead space.

Man is it slow.

Also, I'm probably just being a luddite, but I really don't like the new forum much. Seems bulkier like MS Bloatware.

It's very slow to load.

On the whole though, I guess, like most things, I'll get used to it in time.

Oh, and did I mention it's slow?

I don't mind many of the changes. I never use "advanced" forum features like email notifications so as long as I can post and search, I'm cool.

I will say I agree that the icons and usernames are too big. Just bring them down to the levels they were before and I'd be happy.

I do appreciate the time and energy Geoff has put into the upgrade.

Is this having to log in each time going to be fixed or are we stuck with the way it is now?

Are you on broadband?

I don't notice it on the LAN here at work, but it's noticeably slower on dial up.

It's more graphic intensive I guess, since the buttons are "prettier" and there's all the new graphic options for center and what not on the reply screens and so on.

The 300 character signature limit. You can be well within the five line sig requirement (in 1024 x 768) and still be waaaaaay over 300.

My sig is ruined because "darkblue" is no longer an available color, and it won't let me edit the damn thing without chopping it down to nothing.

I got 8 cookies just for logging in here and checking out a few threads.
Don't think it was always like that was it?

Agreed. I've run into this on other forums and it drives me nuts. It would be nice if it was an option you can disable indivdually.

It's been a little slow in the past, but it's noticably slower now. When I refresh other, I get the three sub forums come up...pause...pause...pause...then only once the ad at the top loads, the messages then appear and it allows me to scroll down.

Being on BB, you probably wouldn't notice it as much (I am on a LAN at work, but our connection is shared by a lot of PCs, making the internet not the quickest thing at times).

any issue with speed, could still be attributed to the fact that the search is still building its index
im sure that puts alot of resource hit on the server
