that's what I'm thinking. everything looks over scale some. Needs a lot less flair and a lot more simple text.

I hate the sponsored links under the first message.

All the fonts/buttons seem too big.

how about an option to switch back to the old version ?

I wish the "Subscribe to this thread" option was back at the bottom. I hate having to go back up to the top of the page to subscribe.

I hope the old darker grey colors come back. I am getting snow blind.

If you do advanced reply v. quick reply you get some nifty subscribe options... it's the best way to go.

Yes, but that's only if you post. I like to subscribe to some threads without posting. And the only way I see to do that is to go back to the top post on the page, and click on Thread Tools.

It's just a little extra work, I guess. I'm so used to reading all the posts in the thread, then having the add subscription link conveniently under the last post.

I agree with the color complaints...Its like looking at a really bright yellow neon shirt. Plus I think the whole "change" thing is hard for everyone. I definitly like the idea of a paid premium type of service though. Count me as someone who would sign up if/when the time comes.

I don't mind the new upgrade. However, I wish we get our post count back.

Me too! If you can bring back the two tone style, alternating background for each post, and bring back the old flat colored smilies, that would be great!

The only new thing I noticed that I like so far is that each post has a link to its id number. Makes it much easier to link to another post

Perhaps he means a throw back to the days when they were under our user name. Oh, the memories.

Love the upgrade not complaining about anything............well, maybe the fonts can be a little smaller but it's only a minor gripe.

the nice addition to quick reply is the option to manually turn off your signature.. so you dont have to include it in every post

this is very nice for when you post many times in the same thread
... a feature really only applicable to you...

Change is usually not a positive thing in the minds of many users. People get comfortable with how things are, and change upsets that comfort level. But most people get used to it, and usually end up liking it.

In general, I like the upgrade. Good job, Geoff. I don't like one of the new icons: looks like a snowball. Totally ruins my sig now.

And I've lost 2 posts today because I was somehow logged out of DVDTalk, despite never even leaving the thread, let alone the forum.

Oh, and one suggestion. I'd like to see the quick reply box be a bit taller. It's only tall enough for about 6 lines. I liked it better when I could see much more of the post in one shot rather than having to scroll.

Otherwise, looks great.

You can't have one without the other. vB3 makes it much much easier to institute a premium member program.

I really don't like the colors in the main forums, not threads. I've only been visiting for a few minutes this time and already it hurrts the eyes. I find the contrast between the background and both link colors (new and old) very eye straining.

That's the only thing that I dislike, though it is a biggie given how bothersome it is to my eyes.

I don't care for the overall look. I prefer the older look where every other post is a lighter or darker shade. Like White and Light Grey. It's just to darn bright on the eyes now.

It does not have the DVD TALK look and feel.

I don't mean to be rude but this layout really sucks. Maybe I just need to get used to it. So far I hate how big everything is. I don't like the layout. I don't like the ads after the first posts. I don't like how there isn't a line between peoples sigs and their posts. Well I guess it will just take time.

Ya it's there now. I hadn't been on here since this morning. It wasn't working then. It's not too bad.
