Porn Popup

@ 6:06 I got a porn popup while checking out Other.

http://www.vividvip.com/partners/1011838/ah/promo.html

That's the link, some Asian XXX hardcore 3 Day Trial for 1.99 thing.

No biggie, just thought you should know.

I have no other windows open, the first thread I was reading was in Other titled "deleted"

Then I posted the message, went to ESPN, then came right back and saw a response to this message. I checked it, this thread, and the pop up came again. I know you aren't running pop ups, but somehow they are showing up?

I also went back to the 1st thread, to see if it would do it again, and it didn't.

That's strange. I looked at the code in that thread and on the other forum area and on the site and there's nothing that could even spawn a pop-up.

I am at a loss. Maybe someone put code in a post to do a pop-up and then removed it.

If this is the case the user will be banned from DVD Talk.

Let me know if you encounter anything like this again, we take this VERY seriously as I HATE pop-ups!

Ok, cool, I know it wasn't something you would have done intentionally. Just figured some advertiser on the ad server did it and you didn't know about it. At least I know I wasn't the only one getting it.

Ok, not a porn popup, but a popup for E-Term showed up when I opened up the Murder In Small Town X thread in TV Talk. This is weird.

I just got a pop-up for Rare Celebs while in the DVD Clubs Forum. I'm sorry that I didn't get the properties, it is habit to close pop-ups as soon as they appear.

Please help us figure this out. It's obvious there's a user who is posting pop-up code in their posts, so if you get the pop up, please note the thread you get it in

I am NOT PLEASED!

I've reloaded the thread about 50 times and haven't gotten any pop-ups. I've looked at the code on the page and there isn't any javascript code that could pop a window up.

I'm baffled!

Are you getting pop-ups on any other site that you shouldn't, is this some sort of strange browser thing

The first time I got it, and every other time, no other windows were open. The only pop ups I usually get are from sports sites i.e. ESPN, Fox Sports, etc. It is very weird because it isn't happening everytime. I think someone is putting code in one of their posts and watches this forum to see if someone complains and then they pull it? That might be the answer? All I know is it has happened 3 different times on 2 different computers.

those who get it might wanna go back to the thread you got it from and save the html that way when you complain you have the code before someone can go back and change it

Geoff, I have been getting porn and other advertisment pop-ups on DVDTalk also. Unfortunatley I never thought to look at the source, I will from now on.
