Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2022 Horror Challenge
I'll volunteer to pick a subset movie. I usually wait until the end because I'm not worthy (one year I didn't even find the DVD of the movie that I had chosen until November), but I like promoting a favorite movie.

I'm always willing to throw out a few subset possibilities. You can do with them what you choose.
And I'm in favor of whatever will make things easier. I'm sure myself or others would be willing to help with parts as well. No need to always have all the burden fall on Chad.

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2022 Horror Challenge
I'm down for a subset film this year. I even have my idea, if that'd help. Because Dracula Daily has been one of the few genuine joys of 2022, I'm planning to gorge on Dracula adaptations this year. Having a dedicated space to yak about that would be convenient. This year is also Christopher Lee's centennial. I was thinking of going with Jess Franco's 1970 Count Dracula. Its premise was that it would be the most faithful adaptation of Stoker's book. It's available on disc from Severin, and has also been streaming for free on Tubi for ages.

Man, I'm glad I checked to forum today.
I volunteer for a subset pick, or two. I always relish the opportunity to force a movie on someone.
Anything to alleviate the added stress of the season. We're supposed to be having a good time here!

Can’t say for sure about taking part this year, because I may be married. Plus she hates horror. But if it comes down that you need one more volunteer, you can add me.

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2022 Horror Challenge
I know most people here are interested in doing some early watching of horror movies, so you might want to consider participating in the Science Fiction/Fantasy challenge next month if you don't usually do so. The challenge is well run and science fiction movies and horror movies go together very well. This challenge always gets my gears turning and gets me interested in the horror channel just two months after the challenge ends. A good time is had by all so think about coming over and joining us!

I second the invite! Come and join us! I just finalized the checklist and posted the list thread here. If you're interested in the checklist, this is the finalized version for this year:
Spoiler:
I also appreciate feedback and suggestions for it and try to change it up every year. Next year's goal is to work on the actor list.

I'm in for a subset pick (or more). I'm also 100% on board with anything that makes Chad's job more tolerable, and certainly don't object to having all the pieces in place sooner.

Re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2022 Horror Challenge
I thought I'd post a few reminders since there's roughly a week to go until the pre-challenge thread goes up.
In case you missed it, we're doing things a bit differently this year, and that's explained in post #18, which is proceeded by the subset volunteer signup sheet on post #19. Looking back I might have been a bit overly dramatic with my choice of words. Didn't mean to make it sound like it was torture, it's just a bit nerve-racking when things pileup last-minute.
I think that's everything for the time being.

- If you have theme suggestion(s) there's still time to possibly qualify for this year's list. Share 'em if you got 'em.
- Have Indie/Arthouse and Comedy Crossover suggestions? Post 'em! That could help speed things up a bit more.
- I haven't gotten to the 1980s Video Companies Spotlight choice yet, so feel free to share if you have any suggestions. As always, if there's more than one I'll put them up for a very quick vote. Here's the past ones used, etc...
Spoiler:
I think that's everything for the time being.

For video companies, I suggest either Unicorn or Wizard. Each has somewhere around 30 challenge-eligible films that were released on VHS.

I may have slim pickin's for giveaways this year (more horror stuff comes out late summer/early fall, so we'll see). I may work with Chad to enact a special category/theme that you must watch to enter.
