Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 17: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)
Wouldn’t a movie set in one of the “Four Seasons of Death” include every horror movie ever made? Every single movie takes place in at least one of the seasons .

Wow! I'm really late to the table here! Chad, put me down for a subset pick if spots are available.

For the same reason it might be worth considering condensing Chronological Years down maybe just one anniversary date (at least 100 years is kind of a stretch).
Ha. Wild card day? Although there are a lot of movies that are 'season agnostic' where there is no obvious clue which season it's set in versus films like Jaws set during Spring Break or Halloween which are steeped in seasonal vibes. Some of the more open ended themes have been nice because they allow more flexibility.

Alright, we're down to 5 subset volunteers needed.
Post 9 is updated as of this post.
Currently there's 26 volunteers with 15 that have given picks.
For those that haven't given picks, plan to give more, or are considering volunteering, I'll be giving an update on what themes we're lacking in very soon.

If you haven't heard, the former September Criterion challenge is now the Indie/Arthouse challenge, which means an Indie/Arthouse Crossover on 9/30 for us. It'll cover the following distributors and streaming channels:
Also, Travis is looking to add a bit of horror flavor to the Indie/Arthouse checklist. He's looking for anywhere between five to ten items that might make for a good checklist sub-section that would appeal to us horror participants that can't wait until October. Any help would be appreciated.
- Arrow Films
- The Criterion Collection / The Criterion Channel
- Film Movement / Film Movement Plus
- Kino Lorber / Kino Marquee / Kino Now
- Milestone Films
- Mubi
- Oscilloscope Laboratories
- Powerhouse Films / Indicator
- Sundance Now

Just a suggestion, but I would say to delete the actors in the RIP section that have 5 or less movies to their name.

Fermentation - 11
Joe Bob - 8
Unofficial - 10
School - 13
Suburban - 10
One - 56
Documentary - 5
Giallo - 6
Streaming - 16
Chrono - 13
Skeptic - 13
Mystery - 22
Hooded - 5
Video - 1
Asian - 7
Subterranean - 8
Ladies - 9
Vampires - 7
Seasons - 10
Zombies - 15
Ultimate - 9
Euro - 14
Letterboxd - 10
Theater - 12
Anthologies - 6
Supernatural - 29
Slasher - 33 / Serial - 5

Odds are it's not 100% accurate but it'll at least give you an idea of what's been covered. There's just too many links and picks to go through everything.

That's hard to say at this point. All I can say is we're pretty much exactly where we were this time last year, right down to the 3 subset spots being left part. Currently 19 of the 28 volunteers have given picks. The 2020 list was posted on 9/9, so we're actually not doing too bad all things considering.

Re: Pre-Horror Challenge 17: Building of the Optional Lists (Themes, Subset, & Checklist)
Since it's been brought up that the RIP list needs an update, we need to decide on what the specific cut-off number should be.
Coincidently, RIP Marilyn Eastman of NOTLD fame.
What's the minimum amount of titles a recently deceased actor should have to their name to make the R.I.P. list:
a) 2. (current number)
b) 3.
c) 4.
d) 5.
e) Other.
