Assigned a few more dates to themes. See post 7.

Just added Litterboxd / Devil Dogs to 10/29 (Tuesday), which is National Cat Day 2019 (sorry, dog day is 8/27). If for whatever reason another theme needs to occupy that spot we can move it to 10/27 - National Black Cat Day (not to be confused with 'Black Cat Appreciation Day' on 8/17). Unfortunately National Litter Box Cleaning Day was in May.

Attached Heavy Metal Movies to The Mass Marathon of the Damned on 10/26 (Saturday). Parties would also be a good fit if chosen, but they were already paired up in 2017.

I'll volunteer for a subset pick if you fail to make numbers. I am unsure how much of the challenge I will be able to complete this year with baby no 2 due the start of October. I will be squeezing in as much horror as I can - I have a huge horror to watch pile :)

Congratulations on the baby! That's exciting. Our second kid seemed like a lot more to handle at first but once my oldest (3.5 years older) adjusted more it worked well and today they end up entertaining each other some. Good luck.

One final reminder. Theme voting ends on Thursday night (8/8) at 11:59 PM EST, and subset construction will kick-off soon after.

Also another reminder we still need 10 subset volunteers. We've been stuck there for awhile.

Another year of unexpected outcomes. There were no tie-breakers this time that had to be settled via Random.org. Horror Parties was the highest vote-getter, and that's despite me initially forgetting to include it. 50 Best and Fog-Infested were a tie for the top spot (in new), and barely edged out The Four Seasons of Death.

And if you're unhappy The 40th Anniversary of Fangoria didn't make the cut, it'll still be on the anniversary category of the checklist. Same goes for any of the others.

I'll have this year's theme list up tomorrow for comments. I also hope to have the subset construction up and going by Friday (or Saturday at the latest) so we can jump right into that.

I stopped trying to be organized YEARS ago. :D I never watched what I had set aside and missed out on several planned theme nights and subset picks. Being busy season at work doesn't help matters as I don't always know when I'll be able to watch something. Sometimes its just a 30 minute window so I'll turn on a Halloween related TV show from my DVR. At least I FEEL like I'm participating that way and getting into the Halloween spirit.
