I support this idea (I don't care who is removed).

How would people feel about filling the last place with something along the lines of "Watch a movie directed by a female director"? That may be more of something to incorporate elsewhere next year, but I thought I'd throw that out.

I like this idea for the 10th director spot or under Watch 3 Films You Haven't Seen Before.

If you need 1 more writer, how about Wesley Strick ?

If Wesley Strick makes the checklist, it might just prompt me to finally watch Doom, a movie I've owned for years because the steelbook is cool.

Done. I added it with this link under the directors category.

I just added another entry giving us 21 for the first time. I'm too indecisive to pick one for removal, and couldn't find it in me to get rid of Oliver Reed.

It could go either way.

How about this:

We're practically there.

Unless I'm mistaken we just like four entries under the "Watch 3 films that you've never seen before that" category.

Here're some ideas to help finish out the "Watch 3 films that you've never seen before that" category:

--features a giant insect
--was made in Italy
--features a character who has a premonition
--is listed on the Film Registry of the National Film Preservation Board
--features time travel
--was shot in Alabama (next year, Alaska, then Arizona, Arkansas…)

Thank you. I do believe that's everything. I'll reveal the finalized checklist tomorrow.

Hey Chad, I noticed that Dick Miller is in two spots: under Actors and Recently Deceased. Should he be in two spots? I think we could delete him in Actors and keep him in the Recently Deceased. What do you think?

Done. That brings us back down to the usual 20 entries.

Kind of ready. Been working on the checklist. Have a big race most of Saturday, so that gives me Sunday to find everything. Easy....

Not at all ready. Haven’t done my usual pre-planning the checklist and pre-buying the subset films. Definitely doing the subsets and mostly theme compliance and 100-115 count this year, but think I’ll completely ignore the checklist for a change.

Here.

It was posted in the discussion thread this time. And that's in no particular order, but I'll have the hybrid table up either tonight or tomorrow anyway.

rotfl
Every year I struggle with how much to prepare and follow the themes/subset/checklist, or to just relax and wing it. A couple years I’ve been super-prepared, and the others are more a compromise leaning towards the lists. This year, I’ll be more relaxed and “off book”, and that may become my norm. I still love all the lists and think they add a lot to the month, but need to keep my OCD in check to some degree.
