I live in a tiny town in eastern NC and Face Off is actually pretty popular. You wouldn't know that unless you visited the Halloween store, but I guess that only makes sense.

It is a technical show, so I can see people not getting into it. But some of us grew up reading Tom Savini school adds in Fangoria, and it's cool to see what can be done in a 1 or 2 day time limit. Again, the checklist item provides lots of viewing choices, so I don't see any reason to drop it. I'm surprised we haven't used it yet to be honest.

While I don't plan to do the checklist, I enjoy Face Off myself.

I usually wait until near the end of the month and go through the checklist to see if I'm close to completing it with whatever I've watched so far. If it looks like it won't take much effort to complete it, I will.

I've never seen Face Off, and don't care if it stays on the list or not. :p

I might try it that way, if I'm close to completing it, work on it, but don't go out of my way.

This is in no way an endorsement for any film by Andy Milligan, but if he is chosen, his film Guru, the Mad Monk (1970) is available on YouTube (along with a few more of his movies) or as a free download from Vinegar Syndrome.

Sam Neil might make a good actor on the checklist. http://www.imdb.com/search/title?gen...e_type=feature

Maybe I'm just not familiar with Robert Picardo's horror filmography, but what did he do besides The Howling?

And while I'm at it, Alida Valli and Harriet Medin might be two more actors to add to the list. Maybe the two of them could combine to make a choice.

Wow, I never knew he was in so many movies.

The checklist is up.

I didn't get enough feedback on the Avengers idea, but I'll be happy to add it if there's enough votes.

And that goes for anything else that might have been overlooked.

Not a fan of Cabin in the Woods or Zodiac (would that be considered horror?)

I went back and looked at last year's checklist, and this was on there:

--- Nation of Origin: Mexico -

It's on this year's check list as well. Weren't we going to rotate the country for this item every year?

The Avengers idea is clever but I agree that it seems mismatched with a horror challenge and would prefer to stick with more established or noteable genre figures; also referencing specific other franchises still feels odd to me - no to Avengers despite being a smart attempt to include novel actors on checklist.

I knew something felt "off".

The only other country we've covered is Spain, so anyone have any preferences in mind? We've already covered the entire continent of Europe on theme nights if that matters.

I have a question about the October 1st Theme

Get on the Ball & Do Not Fall, Because Big or Small ...They'll Devour You All!
Bigfoots, Yetis & Tiny Terrors
Are the big creatures only Bigfoots and Yetis? Or do all giant man-eating creatures qualify (Jaws, Anaconda, Lake Placid, etc)?

No, that particular one is exclusively for Bigfoot, Yeti, Abominable Snowmen and whatever other names they go by. We've already covered 'Jawsploitation' and giant creatures in the past.

But remember, you've also the 'Tiny Terrors' link for Critters, Gremlins, Ghoulies, etc. to offer a little more variety.

Canada sounds good to me. Speaking of rotating was Death By: Decapitation supposed to be rotated too or stay the same? Doesn't matter to me just spotted it so thought I'd mention it.

No, you're right. Forgot that one too.

'Chainsaw' is the other one we've previously covered.

Suggestions?

Not sure if any of these would qualify as I'm not sure what gives enough options but here's some weapon ideas... http://www.horror-movies.ca/horror-movie-weapons/

Hopefully some others have ideas, ^the drowning one sounds good too.

That said, let me know if we are actually done, and if anything needs tweaking.
