Ha! We both got it wrong, but still were thinking about the same title.

Is Crumb an eligible film?

I'm going to say you could use the wild card for this. Technically, Crumb was a comic book artist. He really didn't do animation. I know one of his characters was made into a cartoon (Felix the cat, if I'm remembering correctly) but I do not think he actually did the animation. If I'm wrong, please let me know as then it would meet the rules as an eligible title. That being said, I remember enjoying this documentary so I hope you still watch it if you haven't yet.

With my recent order of both seasons of the Dic G.I Joe series, tomorrow's I'll have every episode, minus the movie with Cobra La. And there's also a Roku channel that has all four seasons of the original Transformers, plus I own all three Japanese series on DVD.

A couple questions. One directed to you LJG. Would you be averse to starting the challenge at dusk tomorrow night instead of midnight?

Also, is anyone else thinking of a sci fi cartoon to get them in the mood for this challenge?

The Animatrix (I only liked the first Matrix. The second is ok but it's the median between the good first one and the stupid last one. I'm not sure I'd want to get into the backstory with animation.)

Funny you say that, shadokitty, I was going to change it to then about a week ago, but when I reread the challenge start time, it actually starts at 12:01 on July 31st. So you can start at midnight, if you want to! It definitely overlaps the sci-fi challenge, so I hope people take advantage. For your other question, I probably will start watching a few of my animation films with a fantasy tag but not necessarily sci-fi.

Sling TV will probably get a lot of use for me this challenge. Besides the Disney channels, Cartoon Network, and Boomerang, HBO On Demand has a large selection of children's fairy tales as well.

September's Criterion challenge is just right around the corner and it'd count for that one!

Three more hours. Can't wait, and to give it extra fun, I'm not working on any challenge till it starts. Watching a BBC Earth documentary on Netflix now, Nature's Great Events.

Looking forward to the challenge myself. I'm finishing up tonight with my last sci-fi/fantasy only movie but plan to switch over to ones that count for both. Haven't quite decided what I'll start with, though. No theme yet that I've decided on. Think I'm just going to flit back and forth to what grabs my attention but I do have several newer ones I haven't watched yet like Despicable Me 2 and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2.

I wanted something for double credit, so decided to start the challenge with a couple episodes of MASK.

After watching a show on UFOs for the Sci Fi / Fantasy Challenge, I decided to switch over to this challenge for my next viewing. I found an episode of The Cleveland Show on Cartoon Network, about Cleveland trying to be cool to win back his son's love.

I think I might keep going with Dark Shadows during the animation challenge but still get some animation in, probably movies, when I need a break. I cleared episode 1,000 yesterday and if I keep up my regular pace, I'll finish and have at least a full week to completely focus on animation.

Netflix has added season five of MLP: Friendship is Magic, just in time for the Animation Challenge. I was missing watching it; the real challenge is going to be not burning through the remaining 11 episodes.

I just discovered that sometimes Amazon Prime has shows you never would have the to look for. I haven't decided how many events I'll watch yet, but I just discovered a new anime under Recommended Shows, RahXephon. I had never even heard of it before.

I was lucky enough to find the 1977 version of The Hobbit online. I haven't seen it since I was a kid. It's amazing how many voices I recognize now and how well it holds up.

I'm the opposite. I've seen that thing so many times as a kid and would get insanely bored from it and only finished it a few times. I'm guessing I like like it a little more now than when I was in grade school.
