As of the current edition, 1231 lists were gathered. I finished the website which can be found here: http://theyshootzombies.com/ and the list on iCM https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/t.../mightysparks/ will also be made official in October.

I've already seen all the films on the list, so it might not be useful for everyone but eh it's fun I also created a list for 1001-2000 https://www.icheckmovies.com/lists/t.../mightysparks/ but there are many 1-vote films on there so it's not as meaningful. Anyway, just dropping this off here in case it helps anyone's watchlist for the challenge...
Damn, that looks like an enormous amount of work on your part to put that together Having posted in a recent thread of someone looking for good horror movies, a better answer to that person would be for them to go down your list until they get to one they haven't seen.

While the methodology makes the particular number rankings pretty arbitrary (which was unavoidable), it looks like it did what you were hoping for ... putting together a really nice list. I've seen almost all of them, and even in the lower part of the list there are a lot of worthwhile movies. It will be interesting to see how the rankings change with time. Which newer movies will stick in people's memories and move up, and which will be forgotten and move down.

I'm getting really antsy too. Already DVR'ing movies from cable waiting to be watched months from now.

I can't hold off until October. Every month is a good time for a good horror movie I'm sure there will still be plenty to catch up by then. And the challenge is a great excuse for me to rewatch favorites that I own.

October is always insanely busy for me so I try to begin any type of Halloween-like activities right after Labor Day.

I've been doing that as well. Also checking out my library's selection.

Nothing ever goes quite as planned. But half of the fun is the prep.

Yeah, we really need to get those out of the way earlier. I'll be posting a separate thread in here in a few days that'll bring up that issue plus a couple of others that need addressing. Stay tuned.

Better hurry. The 60 day trial is ending soon according to an email I received.

Did anyone do the Horror Crate? Want to post some pics of your hauls?

Today, after cleaning behind a dresser, I found a package that was unopened. It turned out to be my copy of the F13 remake. I'd like to replace my set of the original movies though, as some have gotten quite scratched.

What is the Horror Crate?

Can anyone rewatch horror movies over and over again? I find it hard to do. Some I can barely do (it's mainly has to have some comedy), but overall I just cannot. I know what is going to happen and all the screams, which kills it, especially if watched by myself.

It is a monthly subscription service in which you receive a box of horror-related goodies. Shirts, figures, magazines, etc. There are actually a few different companies doing these now.

Before the site launched there was a form to enter your email address that would let you know when it went live. Once you got an email you're asked to help test the site out:

"You're invited to try SHUDDER, a diabolical streaming service devoted to all the things that go bump in the night. Unlock our vast library of horror films that span the globe and the history of cinema.

We're offering you a free 60 day trial in exchange for your valuable participation and feedback. But beware; once you're inside, you might not make it out in one piece."

Anyway, it's apparently too late because I'm also getting the 2 week trial offer now.

re: Comments, Suggestions & Feedback for the 2015 Horror Challenge

I've been getting the Horror Block since last year. I can't say every block is amazing - most of the stuff is just filler stuff - but occasionally I get a cool new shirt or little toy. Unfortunately I haven't got anywhere to put the stuff, so I've just got a big pile of boxes on my floor I can't post any pics right now, but if you google 'horror block [month]' there are people who post reviews every month.

ooo yeah saw some of these at different websites. I never got into it because I'm not huge on those dolls and the shirts probably wouldn't fit me lol. I would rather get movies.

That makes two of us.

I'd probably still do this just for the figures though. I recently bought ReAction's Bride & Dracula and added them to my Remco playset/figures.

Almost 35 years in the making!

That's really cool! If I had my own place and room to display, I would be all over it. But for now, the figures would just sit in a box and take up space and my movies already do enough of that lol.

They go up to XXXXL but you have to pay more for the larger sizes.

I've thought about signing up a couple times but then seeing around $10 for shipping makes me reconsider. I've been doing reddit gift exchanges lately, which ends up costing about the same as if I do the boxes. The only difference is each gift exchange round has a bunch of different themes to choose from.

This time I'm doing cubical decorations and an outdoor gear exchange. I haven't decided what to get for the outdoor one but the cubical person mentioned they liked plants and zombies, so I sent them a set of three zombie chia pets

Yikes, $10 shipping. I guess two free years of Prime has spoiled me, with it's free shipping.

^Yep. I've been checking the SF titles I watch for the SF/Fantasy Challenge and putting aside any that also have Horror listed as a genre. Plus adding new stuff.

Am I the only one dying to know what issues need to be addressed?
