Yes, I was close - but almost all of them were due to the subset..!

I've switched to horror comedies for the month of November. I can't seem to shake October!

I thought the same thing when I watched Bucket of Blood. There was a bucket in one scene, and there was blood dripping in it, but to title the movie after that? ...something Roger Corman would do, actually!

That's so true! I first saw A Bucked of Blood in class and was at first really surprised that our teacher would show something like that... until I actually watched it. Still, great movie!

I know what you mean. Occasionally I'll catch an ep of Tales From the Crypt or watch a Halloween Three Stooges short, but for the most part I've stopped horror.

Doesn't take me long to get 'comedied out' so I threw on Grindhouse: Planet Terror. Had not seen it before. Much better than I thought it would be. Pretty gruesome though. Now maybe I can get through the rest of the comedy month!

Hopefully still have a day or so to finalize. Just have to count my formats viewed and I'm done but I'm away from the comp for today.

Big thanks to everyone who tabulated their own list stats. It's been tremendously helpful.
Don't wanna jinx anything by setting a deadline only to break it, but there's a possibility I could have this finished before Thanksgiving this year.
Qualification as a short is 100% go.
I'd like to see more people do videos for my proposed video montage prize category. And video lists will be encouraged.
Aside from some supplemental material, I've only caught two. Just amazed I haven't burnt out on horror in general.
You still have a few days. 11/15.

As somebody who has already made two video montages for this year's challenge I really like this proposed prize category.

I would have done full stats, but that's hard to do when you're accessing the forum from your iPod.

I've already started purchasing for next year... I was in BL yesterday and saw one that looks interesting: The Dead and the Damned (2011) - did I screw up (it cost a whopping $2.88+tax)?

In my experience, any film (or book or album) with "Damned" in the title is a surefire win, no matter what the price. "Damn" is not as good an indicator as to quality, but I do like Damn Yankees quite a bit.

There's a thought . . . it's not exactly horror, but Damn Yankees does feature The Devil in a prominent role.

This one has cowboys and zombies in a gold mining story. The cover looked pretty cool and the premis sounded good. BUT I looked it up on IMDB after my query. Based on what I've read from "external reviews" (far more trusted than from "users") I tend to think SterlingBen is correct which then supports your 97.5% "bad" conjecture. That's 2 people here whose opinions I trust added to "trusted reviewers"...
At this point I'm thinking it'll be going back.

If they didn't take place in the woods, they all took place in a house or warehouse at night, probably because that's when the owner let them film. Uneven sound levels, pointless scenes of people walking around that could be edited out, etc. Most didn't make use of cgi but if they did, it was beyond terrible.
IMO, for every good DTV horror film you run across, there's 100 others that are just plain awful.
