Same here. I had initially planned to be asleep a couple hours ago, but this thread has me hooked this year. One night of only 2 hours sleep won't hurt me too much, hopefully. Chugging Mountain Dew, and getting ready to watch Cat People and House, two of the shorter Criterion horror films.

You can't go wrong starting off the horror challenge with an OE 40!

I need to get some snacks together. Those caramel apples are rock hard from the fridge... only 15 minutes!

Alright, it's almost here(!) Glad to see all the enthusiasm. Signing off to watch a few horror trailers before 9, and then first up: Shock Waves.

Have fun everybody!

I'd just go for it, but I'll only wind up hurting myself in the long run. I'm pretty beat right about now, so I'd probably pass out as soon as I hit the couch anyway.

Since I just got back from Best Buy and finally found H2, I'm kicking it off with Terror in the Aisles.

Very top of thread shows "(Technically ends 9/1 at Dawn)" when you mean "11/1".

Checklist item for languages was partially changed I think, but still shows "other than English". Is it meant to be three total, or four total? I think it's always been three total.
D'oh! An 11 month challenge might be a little excessive. And three.

Starting off with House, as well.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 7th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Trying to get over a nasty head cold, so will probably only get one in before bed. And that one will be....Re-Animator.

Man, I remember when this first came out, I was just dying to see it. And couldn't because I was a few months too young. I think it was unrated and I was just a 16 year old girl then, so couldn't get in. Which, naturally, just made me want to see it even more....

Well, I'm about 15 minutes after midnight here so it's time to start with Shock Waves and hopefully move into The Alligator People afterwards. It's great to finally be able to start watching Horror!

Now they're Spookylicious.
I think I still have some of the original ones from last year. Better dig those out and eat them this month.

I'd be in!

Is it bad that during a job interview today I just kept thinking about botching it to get more viewings in during October?

Not at all. This challenge is the only thing helping me feel better about being unemployed potentially for another month. Good luck on both the challenge and the job search, man.

It looks like we're going to be starting about an hour late as we finish dinner, but in about fifteen minutes we'll be kicking things off with Santa Sangre.

I'm starting with a double-feature I've enjoyed before: Nosferatu and Shadow of the Vampire.

Happy Challenge, everyone!

I was unemployed during the 2009 challenge and I have to admit I figured I would have gotten way more movies in but I felt like a complete douchebag since I couldn't find a job. Looking back on it now, I don't really care anymore, but at the time I felt like I was wasting all my time watching movies and not looking for a job enough. Though it was also the only year I hit 100 on the Holiday Challenge

I haven't watched a horror movie since August in anticipation for Halloween month and it has been killing me. As soon as it struct midnight I popped in Paranormal Activity to get my fix.

Just finished off my first movie, [REC 2] pretty damn good way to kick things off. 1 movie (and 40) down and we're moving on to Sledgehammer. I just wasted about 2 minutes reading the last few posts. Hoping I can fit one more after Sledgehammer in before I pass out. It'll have to be something light on the mind haha.

Re: 100 Movies. 31 Days. The 7th Annual "October Horror Movie Challenge" (10/1 - 10/3

Started with The Fog (1980) a movie I haven't seen in years! Not sure what I'm going to follow up with, but I will be squeezing in another movie before bed. It's hard to watch much since I work from 2 until 10 every day. Tomorrow (today) I should be able to get in 1 more movie, but then I have to be up early on Sunday. Sunday night I should have a nice little bit of time to get in 3 or 4 if I'm lucky! Basically my days off are the days I will be watching a lot. I'll probably be able to get in 1 or 2 on the days I work.
