Are you serious? That's crazy. He was one of my favorites back in the day. His death in 99 was another blow to my wrestling interests.

Yes, I am very serious, Owen is the best wrestler to not win a Championship

Yeah but she has an impossible battle. From what I gather she can't stop WWE from using footage of Owen for live events and in some form with compilations ( for instance they could use a Owen match against his brother on the Bret Hart set. They also got away with using footage for the Hart Foundation dvd, which she tried to stop, over a year after it was released.) What she can stop them from doing is using Owen for a "Best of Owen Hart" set. In 2000 WWE was going to do a "Best of Owen" dvd with all profits to go to his kids and she raised hell. Horrible thing she lost her husband, but some people who know her claim she was nuts before Owen died.

best wrestler to never win a championship, what about mr perfect, or scott hall

owen was a good wrestler, i liked him but fans tend to overrated guys who die prematurely, he was good and probably underrated, but before he died almost nobody talked about him and he was a mid carder, then he dies and everybody says he was the best and better than bret

He was a great wrestler, his promos were believable and when he wanted to be funny he was. But I would say Roddy Piper, and as you said, Scott Hall and Curt Hennig deserve that title of Best never to wear a World title. Though Owen always seems like a proper nice person, and it's a shame his career can't be shown by making a set of him.

Just read that Kmart will have the Nitro DVD bundled with the Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen DVD for $19.99. Great deal for people (like me) who don't yet have the Horsemen DVD.

Probably the only time I'll ever say this, but: I agree with you.

Cory, you'll like the Horsemen set, trust me on that. Curious, will the Nitro DVD set have the inserts or at the contents printed on the side?

Hennig may have never been world champ in WWE, but he did have two runs with the Intercontinental belt when it actually meant something. He also had a 53 week run as the AWA World Champ back in 1987-1988.

Hall also held the IC title 4 times during his WWE days. Again, not the world title, but the second biggest title at the time.

Also, this is the Wrestling DVD thread, so if we could try and get this back on topic...

I will be there as soon as they open, so I'll post them from my phone. Unless someone does it before me. I'll put some pictures up too, if the case is somehow different.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I just got the set earlier tonight from FYE. Seems the only exclusive extra I can find is a clip of DDP talking about being afraid of heights (making reference to when Sting took him up in the rafters). The extras menu is on disc 1 and that's there, along with the Mysterio/Mr. JL match and the DDP career highlights. Unless I'm missing something those are the only extras I can find. The set looks exactly the same other than a sticker on the packaging denoting that it's an FYE/Suncoast exclusive and features an exclusive match and moments.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I reserved a copy today, and on the back cover one of the matches it lists is Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio, which I know is nowhere listed on the silvervision website, and the sticker said exclusive "content and matches," so I'm expecting the exclusives to be plural.

That match is listed on Disc 2 on Silvervision. It's easy to miss with so much content listed. There doesn't appear to be anything extra other than the previously announced special features and the DDP clip I mentioned. Unless this "bonus content" is mixed into the main feature of each disc, and I have not run into it yet. Looks like the exclusive 2 packs might be the better bet for most folks.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

You're right. I don't know how I missed that. There must be more on the set, since it does say "exclusive content and matches," that's what I don't understand. Oh well, we'll all know tomorrow.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

The way I'm reading your posts the FYE exclusive Nitro DVD has these extras?

- DDP talking about being afraid of heights
- Mysterio/Mr. JL match
- DDP career highlights

If those aren't on the edition sold everywhere, then that must be it. I can't check right now, can anybody? If that's the case I would guess Silvervision's UK release has them all as standard - the extra match and DDP career highlights at least, since they are listed on SV's site.

Any photos of the FYE exclusive?

Yes those are the only extras I can find on the FYE set. They are located on disc 1, whereas I have seen mentions of the extras being on disc 3 with the regular set. Sorry I don't have any pictures at the moment, as I'm not home.
