Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
I need a little help from all you ROH fans out there.
1. I'm looking at getting into watching ROH. What would you suggest being a good event to start with?
2. I had heard that Steve Corino had a gimmick where he would have like a 10 minute introduction with his own ring announcer where he listed all of his accomplishments, etc. Does anyone know what event this started with?
3. I know CM Punk did his heel gimmick in ROH... does anyone know which event that started with and did he go from face to heel? Or start out as a heel?
Thanks for any help guys!

2. For the life of me, I can't remember which shows Corino did this for. I loved the gimmick and marked for it though. Upon doing a bit of research, it looks like the first show it happened at was in August of 2003. The best one was Corino vs Punk at Empire State Showdown later in the year. It appears that Corino used the gimmick off and on until October of 2004.
3. Punk went back and forth from heel to face throughout his run in ROH. A lot of it depended on the venue. His most well-known straight edge promos as a heel came during his feud with Raven in 2003.

2) The Corino gimmick with announcer was in his early run in the company.
3) For Punk at his best in ROH I would go with the summer of punk in 2005.

The cover for Hardcore Justice, interesting how it says 2 Disc set...looks like The Whole F'N Show could definitely be on this;

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
Out of curiousity, do you have any proof that the 2nd disc will be The Whole F'N Show? You've mentioned it a lot, and I'd love to know if that's the plan.
I can't imagine what else they would dedicate a whole second disc two. It's not like TNA has that much footage of ECW guys, save for some older asylum stuff, and considering that the lineup for Hardcore Justice basically replaced all the matches that would have featured TNA talent and storylines, it only makes sense.
Personally, I'm in-between whether or not to buy HJ. It was a solid show, but the only two matches worth watching again were the main events. Disc 2 being the impact after would seal the deal. That show was amazing, featurning the 2/3 falls match between BM and MCMG, an awesome match between Styles and Angle, Angelina Love winning the women's title, and that really fun hardcore match between RVD and Abyss.
Btw, that's an awesome cover, very similar to Hardcore Homecoming.

From what I've been reading, the following Thursday's Impact isn't going to be on this one.

Maybe the 2nd disc will be a Best Of ECW collection, but since they can't show the matches, those involved will just give us play by play descriptions.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII
That HardCORE Justice cover is very nice indeed, about 100 times better than the original PPV poster was. Such a shame the Whole F'n Show isn't on the second disc, but I guess it has nothing to do with the ECW theme. I'm sure we will see the best stuff on future compillation sets (Best Of TNA 2010 if it is released, for example).

The sales on site only apply to the physical dvds. As far as I know, they've never run a sale on the videos site.

Speaking of ROH, I hope they have an update soon on the Bluegrass Brawl dvd fiasco.

September 2nd- Update
We expect to have a new ship date for this title by the middle to end of next week. I would estimate the date to be sometime between the 23rd-30th of September.

I am very surprised they have put Hogan on the front, I would have thought Cena or Bret Hart would have been where he is.
