Just got my copy today. It's presented in 4:3, but the footage is still shown in widescreen, so it's basically like half the screen. Horrible work by ROH on this one. The main menu screen is even pixelated and looks terrible.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

ROH did a terrible job with that. There were better off making no changes to the aspect ratio.

If somebody can post the catalog numbers for every WWE DVD (Region 1-US Version) with the release dates, any help will be appreciated.

Yea, according to CDUniverse.com, FYE.com and Amazon.com the release dates are:

Wrestlemania 26 - August 10
Best PPV Matches 2009-2010 - August 24

Also Royal Rumble 2010 is being released July 27.

And yes, it will be the same versions at Best Buy.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I just picked up the best of ppv set and notice something that is bothering me. On the inside where the booklet is held there is a photo of HBK jumping over the ropes onto Big Show from the TLC PPV but that match isn't included on the DVD set (i think it's an extra on the blu-ray set though) Has this ever happend before where WWE puts a photo from a mtach that isn't included on a DVD set?

Well kind of a case of that on the essential starrcade set as there is a picture of the flair/koloff match from 86 and the match isn't on the set.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

The back of the RAW 15th Anniversary Disc 3 has a photo of Triple H & Hornswoggle from the "Who's McMahon's Son?" Segment on RAW from 2007. The segment is nowhere to be found on the set and I think in later pressings of the DVD, they changed the picture to something else.

Not to mention the back of the DVD box itself has Hornswoggle humping McMahon's leg and LISTS the event as being on the DVD when it's not there.

Also kind of another miscue on the 2004 HOF set they list the JYD/Harley Race match as being from the 1/87 episode of SNME when in fact it's their match from WM III.

Same here...I held off for Jeff Hardy's dvd for the longest and it paid off. Too bad I couldn't wait for batista and Raw: Best of '09...But o'well.

Can't wait for Best of Raw 93-94 and Ricky Steamboat's dvd.

On the first 3 disc Flair set there's a pic of him in a stare down with the Undertaker, but no Taker/Flair match on the DVD.

Yeah, I noticed that. I remember thinking it looked like a pic of their match from, I think it was Superstars, in either late '91 or early '92. Because I thought it was funny that they wouldn't have a ppv match for another decade.

Nice to see TNA getting more non-PPV releases...

Also wanted to let you guys know the new Stone Cold Steve Austin movie "Stranger" 'is out in stores. I picked it up at Walmart for $15...it's got a nice 3D cover on it, for 15 bucks you can't go wrong.

I am so down for the Best of Asylum Years release. Big fan of that time period of TNA.

Best of Asylum years might be cool, especially to see some great old stuff of Styles, Daniels, Jarrett, Raven, Abyss, Ron Killings, AMW, and some of the guest spots by Sting, Luger, Vader, Road Warriors, Scott Hall, etc.

Also nice to see another triple-threat set, the problem is I just hate the idea of getting stuck with a lousy ppv. Luckily, the previous three-packs have a good batting average. In vol. 1, the worst of the bunch was No Surrender, which wasn't all that bad (but Victory Road '08 had a horrible non-finish), in vol. 2, they were all good, and vol. 3 thankfully skipped over the god-awful Genesis (because it was the first appearance of Hogan, which they released individually), and went with the superior Against All Odds '10.

I just can't help but feel that given TNA's current track record, there's a good possibility that there will be one or two real duds in the set.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

I'm a big fan of the 2002-2004 Asylum years, there were stuff good stuff especially from the X Division, which IMO really got TNA noticed.

I remember back then those weekly $10 ppvs they had were so much better than the stuff they are producing now. Glad i have those original TNA DVDs like Ultimate X Collection, Best of NWA-TNA Title matches, Best of X Division and Best of Bloodiest Brawls. Some great gems in those sets.

I've been trying to find the Best of AMW and Best of 3 Live Kru but those are so rare and can't even find a single copy. I regret not getting those from Highspots couple years back when they were like $20.

Also the cover for Over the Limit (which looks pretty sweet!);

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Going back a little, were those WWE Action Pack Double/Multi Feature DVDs with the first documentary discs included definitely Walmart exclusives or were they just happened to be found there?

Ugh. I hate when a bad event gets an awesome cover. It leaves me very conflicted.

I seen an add for OTL in a family video flyer and it used an image of Edge running on the front

Malaysia got this cover based on the poster so the new one is definitely an improvement.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XIII

Here is the art work for the elimination chamber DVD, it looks like it will be three discs. I wasn't convinced at the time about the acuracy of the details of the set (as some of the qualifying matches never happened!)
