Roger Corman Presents: Love Letters
UPC: 736991424999

I'm thinking whats the best reason why this became valuable?

1. The name "Roger Corman" attached to the DVD title?
2. The only movie that Jamie Lee Curtis exposed her bare nakedness?
3. The print run for this DVD is very limited?

Any thoughts?

The sad thing is that this dvd is not the uncut version.
The dvd is 87 minutes long, the film is 98 min.

The difference was how the pace of the story went trough but it did not cut the "skin exposure" scenes on Jamie Lee Curtis.

If I'm not mistaken the original 98minutes release was a rated PG (I based it from my old original Laserdisc)

It makes me sick looking through this thread to see all the money I lost out on when I got rid of certain DVDs. Why the hell did I see those to random used stores instead of trying to sell them on eBay or something like that!?!?

DVD on Amazon shows in print and available for $9.95 new. And it's on Blu-ray, available for $16.49 (on sale from the list price of $19.99).

I think he was referring to the "Jamie Lee Curtis appearing nude/topless in a movie" list.

I remember Pierce Brosnan groping her in the water, but I don't remember anything appearing.

Sweet, time to sell the wickerman sealed 2 disc and sealed beastmaster dvd's I have. Get a Life vol 1 and 2, I remember seeing those at newbury comics a decade ago and opted not to get them as they were only a few episodes on each disc.

Cemetary Man should be added to the list, I sold a few of those for over $20 a pop on ebay after paying $6 for them

The scene was like 3 seconds?

Finally looking at this thread for the first time. I think the ones I own from the list/ones mentioned are License to Drive, Mischief and Moving Violations. I am certain that I purchased those as a 3-pack somewhere and it couldn't have been more than $10-15.

Yeah. Just the nudity thing.

Looks like this one is back on Amazon brand new:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...3768423&sr=1-1

I see this happen often with a lot of once OOP Sonys

It happened with Burnt by the Sun, which used to go for big bucks:
http://www.amazon.com/Burnt-Sun-Niki...3771369&sr=1-1

Same with Orlando, but that one looks like it got a cover upgrade with the banner on top that says "Special Edition."

I wonder if Farinelli will come back? That's going for big bucks now:
http://www.amazon.com/Farinelli-Stef...3771579&sr=1-1

Or Belle Epoque:
http://www.amazon.com/Belle-Epoque-P...3771903&sr=1-1

Anyway, don't some of these Sony titles fall out of print, rise in value and then come back in print again, seemingly random?

Sometimes they only even appear in print for a little while and just disappear from stores and again go up in value. Anyone else notice this? Anyone know why? Will Creeping Flesh got OOP again?

^ I just noticed that with Creeping Flesh, maybe they found extra copies in a wherehouse somewhere?

The same thing happened recently with Dark Waters (1944) the André De Toth
noir, It was on my wish list but was OOP and selling for too much. Then last March it was back in stock at Amazon and I bought it for $9.99.

Now it's back OOP - 11 new from $28.99 / 8 used from $16.99.

I don't know. That's what I thought may have happened with Burnt By the Sun. I bought a few copies as investments back in February and they are still in stock and going strong. Also, it's not just Amazon that has Creeping Flesh in stock. It's also little online places like spun.com.

Dark Waters was an image release. Maybe what just happened to Christiane F., an Image release, will recur like it did to Dark Waters?

OK so, our resident OOP guru addressed this issue regarding the return of the Creeping Flesh DVD:

Just browsing this thread, I see I could make about $600 by selling 18 titles from my collection on the Marketplace. Very tempting, but I love them all.

A few other expensive OOP titles I didn't see listed here:

Bad Dreams $24.99/$17.08
Communion (Elite) $74.99/$16.96
D.A.R.Y.L. $28.37/$13.79
Danger: Diabolik $31.50/$18.66
Dead of Night/The Queen of Spades $99.99/$43.90
Don't Look Now $27.99/$19.93
The Elephant Man $29.13/$11.98
Freaked $34.82/$19.59
Obsession (DePalma) $74.98/$$38.99
Orca: The Killer Whale $36.77/$27.98
Project X $39.95/$26.50
Salome's Last Dance $89.45/$54.99
Scandal (Anchor Bay) $99.99/$32.50
Tales from the Hood $48.99/$26.98

Really odd to see that film fetching that.

That's what Amazon sellers are asking for it, but doesn't mean anyone's actually BUYING it at that price.

You do own one too, I hope? This is the best edition of Wicker Man w/ a great audio commentary exclusive to this release.
