Have you ever came across a title you would have bought on DVD but, for whatever reason, it just never came to your attention when it was released and you never thought about the movie while it was out. Then, one day, you go to check IMDB or some fan site or whatever and you discover the movie you fondly remember from days of yore WAS released on DVD...only it's out of print and commanding huge amounts of cash on secondary seller sites?
My recent movie was Timerider. On Movie Talk on this site people have been discussing movies they enjoyed as a kid and somebody posted a poster for that movie and I recalled I enjoyed that as a kid myself. And it completely sucks that it is out of print now.
(Edited to correct the title...NOT Timecop!)

No problem...they are actually fairly cheap on eBay now that they are back in print...I know because I recently looked up what they were selling for since I was getting rid of mine (I have upgraded them to Blu-ray in my collection)....

The Third Man - Criterion Collection.....might still be able to pick this one up
The World of Apu
This Is Spinal Tap - Criterion
The last 2 are probably going to take me awhile, along with Wuthering Heights and Duck Soup.

In June I finally found a copy of FM at a pawn shop for three bucks. It wouldn't play in any of my dvd players. I cleaned and resurfaced it still no luck. Then last week I found another copy at a different pawn shop. Same exact problem. I guess I was never meant to own this movie.
I had no idea Night Of The Demons was OOP. I just saw a copy at my local B&M record store.

Holy hell. I found another movie I may never have a DVD of. The '60s (1999) - miniseries with Julia Stiles etc. I really can't justify spending $100 on a copy.

Disney has been the bane of my existence where OOP dvds are concerned.
I remember long before I understood how the Disney Vault scheme worked, looking at Disney dvds and thinking I would wait until they were cheaper before picking them up. Little did I know, that would never be an option, and now with all of the imports floating around Ebay, its hardly worth looking for used copies either.

I regret not getting Stuart Saves His Family sooner, but I found an SNL three-pack on eBay for less than $10 containing Stuart, Coneheads and Wayne's World. I downloaded the cover for Stuart from R1DB.com, slapped it in an empty case, and voila!

[broken record] I see the old 2 ep per disc orange cover releases used all the time, in fact a while back I bought the last 15 or so that I needed for $3 bucks a piece. Yes it takes up a lot of space, but it looks impressive on my shelf and they're in production order instead of airdate order. [/br]
