I think it's obvious now..we don't give a damn about what chris really says. It's just annoying as crap. Look DVD and BR talks will be here in the thread cuz some of us buy both DVDs and BRs. I'm mildly interested in seeing the "director's cut" (which I don't think is really a massive change but...I hear tits are in this one so...I want to see how that even makes sense to come up in Salvation). I still want to see those Terry Crews scenes which I don't think we'll ever see...maybe.

Actually, not counting the link itself, "dvd" is mentioned 4 times.

Regardless, that is no excuse for people to continue to post blue ray stuff in the dvd forum.

No one is really talking about blu ray stuff. This thread was meant to complain about a particular studio. Some of the posters agreed there was a reason to be upset, and other posters felt differently. This is called a discussion.

Exactly. I have no idea how I've missed the BR/DVD pissing war that's been going on, but this was a time when I was genuinely curious about behind the scenes stuff and voiced my displeasure with not being able to watching. Seeing what's going on. I'll just go on back to my lurking ways. Someday, I'm going Blu. This just sucks for now.

Lol. You just went into the Blu-Ray Bargains forum and bitched about how somebody blacked out some DVD's from the Best Buy ad scan.

dvd active has just announced the dvd release:
http://www.dvdactive.com/news/releas...alvation2.html

ok, now warner has pushed it to a point where i am furious!!
they are releasing a 1disc dvd with theatrical cut only and
a 3disc bluray set which includes directors cut as well!!
are they really that desperate to sell bluray!!??
the only justice for that shady move is that the movie failed at
the box office
since about 90% of customers still purchase dvd and don`t feel
like being "forced" into bluray, i hope i am not that only one
extremely upset about this release. well, i guess another email
to the customer department, which will as always remain unanswered
anyhow!

i hate to use harsh language in this forum, but

F U C K Y O U W A R N E R !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its actually 3 DVD vs 3 Blu-ray. You can't really count DVDActive as mentioning DVD as its the name of the site.

Fully agree. Because we needed a 5th thread on how much Warner/other studios suck because they are putting special features on BDs only.

again you are getting facts mixed up
not other studios....only WARNER!!
and no one complains about bluray only special features either,
only about the fact that they have reached a whole new
level of making a whole film cut solely available to a few

You and philip are making a point, and other users -- and DVD owners, I might add -- are responding to it. It's not like an exclusive line between the DVD and BD forums. The DVD forum is also definitely NOT intended to be a place where you can just bash BD up and down for your own enjoyment. You make posts about it, expect people to respond.

We are allowed to praise Blu-Ray in the DVD forum, just as you are allowed to criticize Blu-Ray in the Blu-Ray forum, as long as you do it in a civil manner that is relevant to the topic you're posting in.

That "whole film cut" is 3 extra minutes of worthless footage. If you want to see Moon Bloodgood's tits so badly, just google it a few days after the Blu-Ray is released.

Re: terminator salvation 12/1

Everyone acts like this is a one way street. Someone tell me why I don't have the unrated cut of Live Free Or Die Hard on Blu. Or Mr and Mrs Smith. Hmmm, oh look at that. I saw that and said to myself " well that kinda sucks" and moved on. Don't act so abused.

Let's look at Spider-Man 1 and 2 and how it was released on blu-ray. They could only be purchased if you bought the entire trilogy and the first two films had nothing compared in terms of special features if you look at the DVD releases.

There was not anywhere close to as much frothing at the mouth as there is for such a sub-par movie as Salvation.

Also, for a long time any bonus discs or goodies on the release week of movies only came on the DVD versions. Once again, nobody was acting like they'd been infected with rabies.

Who would have thunk we'd see the day where Gizmo is the Blu-ray defender?

All you guys bitching about Gizmo being a blu-ray fanatic have it all wrong. Gizmo was the biggest Blu-ray critic since the format started (and rightfully so in most cases) so please don't sit there and accuse him him of serving the Blu-ray agenda or whatever you guys are coming up with.

This is just the natural progression of technology. Studios want you to buy the newest form of media that is not as devalued as dvd is now. Seriously, just go Blu-ray, or if you don't want to, your bitching is falling on empty ears.

Then there's the odd movie like Them that will have it.
