I'll throw Shaun of the Dead out as my choice. Perhaps the majority have already seen it--I know it's a popular title. I've yet to view it and it's been in my unwatched pile since picking it up a few months back at Big Lots.
Regarding a specific date--anything after the first week of the month. I'll be away from home and while I plan to continue my horror film watching, my internet access may be limited which means I'd be slowed down in contributing to the thread.

If I can make a pick... i suggest Delamorte Delamore http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109592/ as I think it is such an underated horror movie, and is very good. It is not spoken of except by the biggets of fans of horror/foreign movies

I was curious what would be this year's Death Bed and apparently it'll be, well, Dead Bed. Hey, it's still in my Netflix queue from last year!
BTW, don't make the horrific mistake of confusing this $25,000 film of the same w/ Martin Sheen ...err Joe Estevez(!):

I'll throw out a title: The Signal. I watched it recently for the first time, and I was really impressed by it. It's not perfect, but it was a rare film that actually gave me a bit more than I was expecting. The basic plot sort of reminded of The Happening (something causing people to go crazy/violent), but it was handled in a much better way.

It's also known as "Cemetery Man" for those who want to pick it up.

Sounds good. And it's a healthy fascination.
It took me forever to decide on "Black Friday" last year so I feel an obligation to pick ASAP. Since I'm such a fan of both Italian Gothic Horror and Barbara Steele I'll go in the same direction this year with "Nightmare Castle". I've been saving it specifically for this challenge so it'll be a first time viewing for me.
Here's a good article on Italian Gothic Horror I stumbled across for anyone interested:

I'll throw in Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon as my pick.
I'm assuming we get only one pick so if someone can't think of a title, but really wants to submit something, I'll send Poltergeist vibes your way.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Night of the Creeps yet seeing that it's making its DVD/Blu-ray debut and all. I wish it wasn't so late in the month though.

Yeah, Night of the Creeps would be cool, but I think that is just too late in the month to allow enough of us to find it and watch it in time. But it could be a weekly choice in November or later for our soon-to-come Horror Film Club.
Thanks for the picks all. Keep them coming. I'm not sure where this feeling is coming from, but I'm leaning towards picking Poltergeist.

That's my pick and netflix has it on instant watch. It's bad but it's a classic for me
I'd say that one counts.

guys, I have a couple of DVDs double so I'll be more than glad to offer them as prizes or a prize. depends in how you all decide. how did it go last year? I can't remember them all, some are sealed some are used but from what I remember, Zombi 2 (MB), some giallos, delirium (bu), and black candles/evil eyes.

The biggest surprise in the TCM list is Videodrome! Does anyone know if they'll air the uncut version or use the edited for tv print? They do run the occasional pan & scan print and edited for tv print if that's all they have access to.

I hate to add anything to Chad's plate regarding stat-keeping for the challenge, but it also seems worthwhile to recognize the top horror challenge rookie with all the newcomers joining the fun.
