Movies I really love I usually get a spare. One for the house - one for my camper.

It's also fun to hook up two TVs with DVD players side-by-side, starting the discs at the same time. That's what I call "Visual Stereo!" Just joking. LOL

My copy came today - I scanned through it quickly to make note of the chapter/scene index so I could do a copy on my word processor.

The preview for American High School looked funny however bad reviews on iMDB.

Is it all that bad?

I've never seen it....maybe I'll do a blind buy.

I love this movie, but I have to echo what the reviewer said. I'd be real careful blind buying this movie. I'd say at least 85% of the reason I like it and am buying this movie is out of sheer nostalgia. I guess it's not a big deal for 10 bucks, but unless you have a real fondness for super cheesy early 80's comedies, I'd try my best to rent first.

Being the astoundingly huge fan of this movie I am, even I would agree with you.

David Knell, here. I played Nelson Dalby in Spring Break. No, really.

And since the folks and Anchor Bay and whoever is involved with the DVD release spared every possible expense in putting this DVD release together (meaning there are really no bonus features), I have taken it upon myself to rectify the situation.

Tomorrow, Perry Lang (who played Adam, in the flick) and I will be recording the completely unofficial Spring Break "bootleg commentary."

We'll make it available on Rifftrax before the official release date (August 18th)

If you've seen the movie a dozen times and have a burning question about the production, the people, etc. Leave a comment, and we'll try to answer it.

I'll post details on the Rifftrax release as soon as possible.

Cool that they're doing this bootleg commentary. I hope they get a good response.

Rifftrax could be on to something here. There's so many titles--especially these low-budget drive-in goodies--that deserved commentaries but never got them. Rifftrax might be a handy repository for "bootlegs" like this one.

I was in Lauderdale in '84 and this is how it was .. everyone just wanted to get drunk and laid .. Penrod's, The Button, Elbo Room .. dude, I lived it - and it was awesome!

Anchor Bay and teen comedies! Awesome news. Can't believe I picked up Hardbodies, H.O.T.S. and Screwballs today and forgot this classic ......

Checked it out, and was pleased. Couple of glitches and dropouts near the end, but informative and fun. BTW - you get a bit of a shot out from Jeff Garlin in the commentary. He mentions you reviewing the movie and speaking to, or e-mailing him.

I'd stilll like to know where you got Screwballs!

Ha ha ...sorry about that, Flicker! Haven't rechecked the thread since my post. A local Best Buy for $14.99. There were 3 copies ...now only 2.

I bought the commentary yesterday and will listen to it this weekend!! I am really looking forward to it. The promos are great!!

I checked at a Best Buy store today. Sales ASSociate said he never heard of it and didn't bother to look in the computer. When I got home I checked out BB on-line and they want 24.98! BlueRay is cheaper - don't remember the price but I don't have BlueRay anyway.

Updated my review with an assessment of the commentary (good!).

I bought Screwballs at my local Best Buy on release day for 14.99. They had 3 copies of it at mine that day too.

I loved it!! David has been great for answering any additional questions as well.
