oh ok didn't realize they even sold anything anymore, I looked it up and its on there but for $100, it's listed as rare- not much of a bargain.

right...$100 was a good price the first time the set was "rare" or "limited", but Full Moon seemed to find a bottom-less pit of sets and has still been selling them at $100.

Re: What OOP dvds do you regret not getting

I regret that I missed out on so many of the Special Collector's Editions and 2-disk Platinum Editions of Hong Kong Legends/ Optimum Asia Region 2 DVD's.
I was able to pick up about 30 some titles earlier this year of Special Editions of Asian action films earlier this year but to my sadness and disappointment so many salivating titles are out of print.
I managed to order the 2-disk editions of Iron Monkey, Volcano High and Red Wolf about 4 or 5 months ago but sadly last week I was Amazon Uk canceled the order on these 3 titles cause they are OOP and they wont be able to fulfill that part of my order.

Other titles I wish I could of got if I had known about them at the time:
Naked Killer
New Dragon GAte Inn
Mr. Vampire
The Scorpion King (Honk Kong Legends)
The Young Master
Product Image
Ichi the Killer - 3 Disc Special Collectors Box
Winners And Sinners
Skinny Tiger Fatty Dragon
Wheels On Meals
Encounters Of The Spooky Kind
Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Stars
Project A
City on FIre
Product Image
The Magnificent Butcher
Prodigal Son
Warriors Two
Heart Of The Dragon
Product Image
Ninja In The Dragon's Den
Purple Storm
She Shoots Straight
Game of Death (2-disk Platinum edition)
My Lucky Stars
The Warrior (2-disk PLatinum edition)
Avenging Fist
Dragons Forever

The Iceman Cometh
Moon Warriors

October should be the next half off sale.

That's a really great find. I always check anytime I go anywhere with any used discs. I know it will turn up eventually.

Manhunter Divimax Restored Directors Cut.
I found the LE 2 disc used for 5 bucks and could't pass it up. The first disc had a bunch of scratches on it but the second disc was perfectly clean other than some dust and a partial fingerprint. I already had the single "theatrical" cut which is identical to the first disc in the LE set so I think I came out well. Oh and the set had the folder with all the photos and stuff still sealed. I opened it up the other day and it's a pretty neat set of images.

That's the main reason I want it as well.

Same here (Titus seasons). I got a couple of each during the same sale & was glad to unload 'em later. Sometimes you wish things hadn't sold & were still sitting around feeling neglected on a shelf (actually that's happened a few times).

#4 is available at the Disney Movie Club and my local Best Buy has about 10 copies of #1. Hope that helps you.

Savage Streets...that movie looked pretty awesome, but it went OOP right when I found out about it.

Wish I had a chance at some of the MST3K releases, but eBay and FYE (I got Hellcats for $10) fix that problem. You just have to shop around and be patient.

Found 38 Colt Special Squad yesterday at (What used to be) Tower Records. Picked it up for $15.

Not a missed purchase per se, but I lent out Barfly to someone (I can't remember who, though believe me I asked everyone I could think of), only to find that it had gone OOP and was selling for astronomical prices on Amazon. It's the only OOP title on my wishlist, though it is an eventual Criterion possibility.

Back in 1998, I was too cheap to spend $40 on a copy of Criterion "The Killer". Regret!!

Re: What OOP dvds do you regret not getting

I just found a copy of She's Out of Control at Moviestop for $1.99. I am probably going to watch it once (if that) then sell it. If I really want it I'd be happy with a burnt copy and the $50+ that I'd get for selling it.

I still see the 3-pack of License to Drive/Mischief/Modern Problems around. Just saw one at an FYE a week or so ago.

I agree with macnorton, you just need to shop around sometimes, and be patient. Look everywhere you go - you never know who's still got a copy of something lying around. There have been more than a few times I spent years looking for a specific title, as I didn't want to pay some exorbitant price for one on E-bay or Amazon, only to eventually luck across one. And cheap, too. Just because it's OOP, doesn't mean everyone else knows that, or that they are charging a high price because of it.

I'm heading out this weekend to several used shops....What are some of the better comedies that are OOP and should keep an eye out for?
