I didn't get the "enclosed self-addressed envelope." I got three pieces of paper -- the letter posted above and two copies of some invoice -- but no envelope other than the bubbly one it came in. When I called Wednesday, I flat out asked if I had to send it back, and the dude said the DVD was "mine to do whatever I wanted with." I dunno... Guess I'm definitely keeping now.

Anybody else not get the return envelope?

And in a sort of unrelated note, how sad is the plastic case they're using for the DVD? I understand they're not using as much plastic which I guess means they're cutting down on costs and waste, but man, does it ever suck.
I got the same letter as Scott w/ the pre-paid self-addressed return envelope. Mine was shipped next day air via ups even when I only live roughly 30 miles away from the return address. Pretty dumb if you ask me. I was also emailed a tracking code. Overall, I have to respect how they are handling it but in a pretty dumb way for their own sake.

Thanks to everyone for the info. My copy should be here tomorrow. Called, answered a few questions, 3 minute call.

I was also asked,"Deal or no deal?"

and "Is that your final answer?"

Oh and "Would you like fries with that?"

On the bottom half of the DVD disc, there are 3 logos. Can you please identify these logos?

On the back of the DVD case, just below the "Special Features" section, there is a small white box between "14" and a "13". Can you tell me what the text in the white box says?
The CSR whom I talked to this morning only had me jump through these two hoops. She/They must have done this to pare down the length of all of the calls.

perhaps we shouldn't post the details on what they ask, so as to cut down on people that would, unfortunately, take advantage of this program without having purchased the DVD. perhaps edit posts? just consider...

AFAIK, no one has stated which two newspapers are quoted and what is stated underneath the "special features" list. Now, of course, that won't stop someone from going to their local store and copying down that information with a pen and paper, though.

But now they know what to go write down at the store. And also what color the writing is on the disk which they couldn't get from the store.

Selling the "defective" disc or giving it to someone would be a dick move. Tossing it in the trash rather than going to the trouble of mailing it back ... I don't see that that's a big deal. However, I also have no trouble being a dick to Fox.
Putting it in the pre-paid self-addressed envelope and putting in the mail box while putting out your other mail is not much more trouble than throwing it in the trash.

Sent mine back today with the provided envelope. Decided not to be a dick I guess.

Re: "Slumdog Millionaire" Replacement Program Info.

Haven't had a chance to pick up a copy yet but when I do and if it doesnt have the features I'll just order a replacement from FOX and then send them the one I bought at the store as that isn't any trouble and plus it's only fair considering they are being nice enough to send you the corrected discs.

Send it back...lets not give these companies reason to screw us over in the future. The royally screwed up, but it seems like they're handling it well.

You shouldn't be responsible for shipping & handling. If it's really on your conscience, I'd call and ask them to send you a return label and they will probably send it or say to just keep it.

maybe it is a token of appreciation for being one of the first to actually alert them to their damn dirty deeds!

Yeah seriously I am not sending the original disk back. They are gonna send it to rental outlets and I feel I would be condoning and supporting this practice. No way in hell would I support through direct or indirect action this asinine practice. They can suck my balls.

Re: "Slumdog Millionaire" Replacement Program Info.

So if I go out and purchase this tomorrow am I likely to have to go through the ordeal of calling for a replacement disc? Either way, glad to see they are handling the problem well and getting everyone replacements.

Got my disc this morning...scratched up a bit, it skips and freezes every once in a while. Going to call Fox again...damnit.

i am wondering the same thing and would rather not go through the seemingly pain-minimized process. any word on another pressing with corrected disks?

So the problem with the DVD is that the extra features are missing? Thanks for not putting that in the original post.

i will say that the Walmart disc was different in one way...when i went to the 'Special Features' section it came up with the trailers. on the Target disc when you hit it, the disc shuts off and goes back to DVD Player screen.
My target DVD had the trailers.

sorry and thanks for your sarcastic comment, always a
plus, everyone seems to already know what the problem was and there was another thread that discussed it in detail. this was just for the info of who to call.
