Re: "Slumdog Millionaire" Replacement Program Info.

I own all but 2 of Danny Boyle's films (this and Strumpet) and find it funny that I can't purchase a proper release of his most popular/celebrated film. I don't want to deal with all the bullshit (mailing here, mailing there) so I guess I'll wait for a possible re-release/special edition.

Honestly it's not that hard...Fox was fucking fast about it. you buy it, if you got the incorrect dvd hit the site for the exchange and receive your new one in 2 days flat.

It was pretty easy. It used to be that you didnt even need to buy the dvd. They would send you one for free. But they changed that now, so it is a little more difficult to get. But they do ship very quickly.

LOL sorry about what?! I got my corrected disc from them way before they started doing what they are doing now. I was just saying how it sucks for people who didn't get a chance to get the corrected discs before now. So yeah don't be sorry towards me LOL and btw, if you look back on this thread on page 5 you will see where I said I got the incorrect disc but called them and got the corrected one in 2 days.

Re: "Slumdog Millionaire" Replacement Program Info.

I bought a defective DVD of Slumdog millionaire from Blockbuster, when I was leaving for India. Now the icky part is how will my DVD get replaced, I have spent 23.98 USD. It is lurid and disappointing.

Rental stores got the special features removed versions. You got the proper version considering where you got it at.

If you still really want help, you'd do better with contacting Fox through their replacement program.

So the copies that Blockbuster gets for retail sale, IE brand new sealed copies, are also the rental version? Not just he ones they get for the rentals?

Re: "Slumdog Millionaire" Replacement Program Info.

I bought a defective copy and registered for the whole exchange thing through Fox's website. I sent my defective disc nearly 4 weeks ago and haven't gotten anything! Did anyone else have this problem?? Is it supposed to take that long??

i'm pretty sure their retail/sealed versions were like all the rest upon first release, with no features.

unfortunately, you got in on the 2nd wave of replacements where you have to send first. most who did upon release didn't have to send defective back and got new within 2 days. not sure how long it would take your way, but i am sure a lot longer considering the back and forth. 4 weeks does sound like a lot though.

You are not alone. I sent mine back on April 24 and still haven't received anything. I have called the number listed on the first page of this thread twice now and got the same answer: "We are receiving a lot of returns. There is a backlog in shipping the replacement discs." They can look you up in their system and see if a disc has been shipped to you. I am still not listed in the system. The cs rep told me to give them a call again in a week. I feel very sorry for the rep who answers my call next week if the answer is still the same.

Odd... I got mine the very next day. They sent mine express. But my guess is they got sick of the thousands of people who so very easily took advantage of this offer and got free discs. It was pretty stupid of them. All the answers they asked were easily available online. Sucks you have to send your disc in now. Personally I never send discs in. I keep them. The way I look at it, its a collectible. I hope this doesn't become the norm.

Re: "Slumdog Millionaire" Replacement Program Info.

Wouldn't it be easier to take it back to the store and exchange it by just saying it's defective because the special features don't play?

If I buy a previously viewed copy from Family Video will I be able to get a replacement disc? Has anyone else done this and been successful?
