Re: Halloween Collection
I have the R2 UK H20 which is anamorphic. Basically, if you buy it in any country except the US, it will likely be anamorphic.

Re: Halloween Collection
DVD Compare is usually always correct so I'll have to listen to what it says there. Hope a Anamorphic soon comes out though.

Halloween 6 - uncut final version Halloween 6 - producer's cut Halloween 6 - rough cut(early workprint) Halloween 6 - tv version(theatrical and producer's cut hybrid) Didn't realize there were that many versions of 6. I have the Producer's Cut. Guess I better start searching some torrent sites. |

Ok I'm sure this question has been asked before but I am going to finsh off my Halloween Collection soon and I was going to ask a few questions before I go out and buy them. Right now I have: Halloween: Digitally Remastered THX, Halloween (Remake) Rated and Unrated, and Halloween Resurrection.
Which (if multiple versions availabe) version of each should I buy? Is the Halloween 25 Years of Terror DVD Worth It? Should I get three because I've seen it and it sucked so bad so is my collection incomplete without it or is it better off? Should I buy the 3-Disc Version of Rob Zombie's Halloween? I say go ahead and get Part 3 too. It got a lot of bad press, but taken on it's own, it's kind of a fun and interesting movie. It still has that great early 80s/Dean Cundey vibe to it and a great mood to it that a lot of later sequels didn't have. |

MICHAEL MYERS I had to, I couldn't resist. |

MICHAEL MYERS I had to, I couldn't resist. And that would be a good thing...Halloween with Michael Myers is a waste of time after the second one. Just another slasher flick after that(just my opinion but true..lol). Halloween III would be considered a cult classic(to many of us still is) if it weren't for the fact it got stuck in that franchise. Had it been just called Season of the Witch it wouldn't be getting any crap. Heaven forbid we ever have an original story in horror better to have 20 sequels...ugh! 301 more days til halloween, halloween, halloween. 301 more days til Halloween, Silver Shamrock!!! |

Tell that to my anamorphic R1 disc.
Mine is definately not anamorphic. And I have th 25th year anniversary Anchor Bay Divimax edition of Halloween...is this the approved version as it does not mention THX Certified. I must say though I am very pleased with the edition I have! |

Over the years, I appreciate HALLOWEEN 3 more and more. It's still not a good movie by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a thing of its time and does offer some original fun that #4 and on don't. People may still have hated it if it wasn't under the HALLOWEEN banner, but how anyone can defend #5, 6, or 8 and trash #3 for trying something new is beyond me. |

You're relatively new here, so welcome, and you're already contributing with an intelligent comment! I agree with you 100%. The HALLOWEEN sequels with Michael Myers are dreadful - and I mean all of them, except #2 which is decent. I saw all the HALLOWEEN films as they were released and was sick of Michael Myers from #4 on. As far as the merits (or non-merits) of HALLOWEEN 3 goes, I didn't much like the film when it first came out, but it had nothing to do with the absence of Michael Myers. I just thought the film was stupid (which it is, but at least in a fun way in the right mindset). At that point, I really appreciated the idea of their plan to do an entirely different story and screenplay each year for the HALLOWEEN franchise instead of the usual crappy sequels. Unfortunately, that never happened as #3 wasn't well received and eventually Michael Myers was resurrected for the never-ending terrible and repetitive sequels.

Oh and The Monkees yes I agree there is "tons" of people who like sequels...which is part of the problem, people keep buying into them so thats all we get. Sequels are on rare occasions done well(Aliens) but more often then not they are lazy filmmaking to make a buck. Power to you for liking them but I would rather have something original. |

I also watched the TV edit of the first Halloween movie and liked it. On the other hand, I bought the box set and watched the first one, the regular version, with my wife and didn't like it nearly as much as the TV edit. I was really disappointed. Besides the first and third movie, everything else is just a blur. I remember one of the newer ones had the girl in the clown costume at the end and I also remember their being rappers in at least one of them. I grew up with Freddy and Jason, so I always liked them. Being more into monster movies, a guy in a mask wasn't what I was looking for. |

Is this the case? I've been thinking about grabbing it, but I noticed that ebay lists it as having full screen and widescreen formats? Is that true? I thought it was a standard release? Also, it had a slipcover, right? And the comic is inside the packaging...like a mini-comic? I don't wanna get hosed.

Jason was more of a freak than Mike, which was just a normal dude with a Halloween mask. I know about the entity thing but that was just something never seen that was used to explain away things. |
