I stated this in the "Blockbuster exclusives" thread, but thought I should put it here as well:
The BBV "exclusive rental" is only one disc....it does not have the Popcorn Porn documentary, the Money Shots Webisodes, or the Comic-Con 2008 footage...it does have the deleted scenes, the bloopers/outtakes reel, and both parts of the Seth Vs Justin improv (the second part being the only BB exclusive, it is just an additional 6 minutes)....

Seriously, how many people bypass seeing the latest Kevin Smith movie in a theater because they know in less than 3 months there'll be a feature-packed DVD released?

I love Kevin Smith movies, but I haven't seen one in a theater since Dogma because I know the DVD experience is going to be better.

I purchased this at Best Buy yesterday and watched it for the first time last night. It's a pretty funny movie. I enjoyed it, but I can't believe there's not a commentary on this release. There are lots of other extra features, but no commentary from someone who's commentaries I really enjoy is a bummer. I was thinking that he might be making one available for download or something, but haven't seen any discussion of that.

Those Canadian slip covers are cool, johnsun. I wish they were selling those down here.

Smith has been quoted as saying the WILL be releasing a downloadable commentary track at some point. I know he was in a funk for almost a month after the film was released, so he probably didn't feel like recording a track then (and that's probably when one had to be made)

Kevin Smith does a sorta-weekly podcast with Scott Mosier called "SModcast", which he feels covers anything that viewers would need in a commentary. He doesn't plan to do one specifically for the film since he's covered it at length already in the podcasts.

I tried 2 Best Buys in the Pittsburgh area and both were sold out of the Blu-Ray. I noticed that I am not the only one, but Is everyone having this problem?

I'd just like to note that I've been proven wrong. DAMN...

We had the Blu-Ray at the FYE I work at in Paducah. However, the only reason we got it is because I pre-ordered it (where we got covers with both the edited and full title), and even then, we got it later in the day.

Not me...I saw J&SBSB three times in the theater, and once each for Jersey Girl, Clerks 2, and Zack & Miri....

Since this movie's advertising was not very forward with the fact that it was a Kevin Smith movie, I'd have to say that, despite what I thought before the movie opened, that maybe the whole "Make a Porno" title-chopping and Ohio theater bans actually hurt the movie more than expected. Most people came to my theater asking to see "the Porno movie", yet on Yahoo! Movies they only posted "Zack and Miri" for the title on the movietimes. I wonder how many people missed it because of this subtle but crucial change.

Yes, and I was even told on the phone that they had "several" copies of it and asked for confirmation on that to only arrive at the store no more than 10 minutes later to find ZERO copies in the store. I sat down the other movies that I had in my hand just so that the lady manager I complained to knew that I was pissed about being lied to. I buy tons of stuff from Best Buy but decided that for today they get zero dollars from me. I managed to snag a copy of this at Blockbuster for 29.99+tax, just a few bucks more than Best Buy would have sold it to me for.

I got mine at target and i didn't even notice the "make a porno" being cut out of the front cover art. I'm not really happy about it but I guess I'll live. It was a blind buy for me but i'm glad i picked it up when i did.
Loved how they threw Ben Roethlisberger's name in the first porn scene.

I'm pretty sure he's replying to the purchase of a Blu-ray, not the regular DVD. The Blu-ray is $26.99 at stores, so $29.99 at Blockbuster isn't that much more.

I've only seen Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, J&SBSB and Clerks II in the theater, but that's more than half his films at least.

The only place near me that carries movies at all is Wal-Mart so i picked up the one with the edited cover. I haven't opened it yet.

Will the movie be exactly the same? If it is i can live with the cover and watch the movie tonight. If the movie itself is edited though i will return it unopened and order it online.

Anyone know? The special features look the same (2 discs) and it is rated R. There isn't an unrated out there is there?
