Re: Navarre shuts down BCI Eclipse
One super crappy side effect of this is that they were in talks to put out several titles including one I myself having been dying for. I'm not saying the name, but I will say it's a Tarantino favorite for which he named a distribution company after. Word leaked out by someone saying something they shouldn't on another board, but was quickly deleted from the site.

All BCI titles went OOP print, so plan accordingly.

I checked Michael's Movie Mayhem, and none of the newer Code Red titles are listed as discontinued.

You probably won't see any change in status until retailers start running out of stock. Personally, I've been buying up all the BCI stuff that I really wanted over the last month. Better safe than sorry and it's not like their product is expensive.

I wish I could find a decent picture of the Arrested Development where Gob yells "OH COME ON!"

Are the Drive In Cult Classics really out of print?
If you look at Amazon, at least for Volume 1, it says STUDIO: NAVARRE.
And, while the DVD is on back order now, it was on back order a few weeks ago (after the announcement), then came back in stock, then went on back order again.
Since the titles are so popular, the parent company might have just taken over.

Probably only limited interest in this, but...
If you have even a remote interest in the incredible strange 50s (limited) animation program Clutch Cargo - and don't want the Alpha atrocities - pick up the BCI sets now.
3rd party sellers still have some stock but the scalpers are jacking up the prices sky high already.

Does anyone know if the rights to Starcrash has been picked up by another company yet? There was a planned double feature of Starcrash and Galaxina under the "Exploitation Cinema" double feature line, but BCI shut down before it was released.

I guess there's an audience for everything!
To each their own! But the fact that this was on DVD at some point in the past makes me mightily pissed off thinking about some of the movies that have NEVER been released yet.

Looks like the retailers are returning all titles now. I saw shopping carts full of Savage Streets at fry's going back. No one has it anymore, and the price is skyrocketing. I'm sure it will appear somewhere soon heavily discounted, but I really wanted the slipcover...

The slipcover is under the shrinkwrap on this title.

Re: Navarre shuts down BCI Eclipse
BCI shutting down has really messed me up. I was collecting the He-man and She-ra sets, and when they shut down, I only had one set from each show to get. Now, you can't find them new for under 100 bucks. I need them new and still shrinkwrapped because I'm a bit OCD when it comes to my dvds and I want to not only complete the spine mural, but also to match the other sets which I've also kept shrinkwrapped (leaving a space to get the dvds out) for protection. I picked up each of the other sets for less than 20 dollars new. Guess I'll keep searching.
