I watch my copy again last night, and it's fine. Std DVD, blown up with a projector to 110" and I didn't see any flaws. Not looking for them either, nor am I blind. I see all kinds of crap on other films, but The Dark Knight is clean and a pleasure to view and is entertaining.
But really, the fact that many people see the same problems, should be evidence enough that this is not a very good transfer.

The artifacts is not from my imagination, they are definitely there, part of the transfer. Some of the artifacts are most visible when in motion, others can easily be seen on digitally captured frames. When I have the time, I can grab a few frames and point out the artifacts, if anyone wants.

If you get the opportunity to do that, i'd like to see them. i guess i really don't know exactly what people are seeing, maybe because i've never really known what to look for.
