Night of the Creeps dvd?!
Will this great 80's horror comedy EVER make it to dvd?? I saw this last night at a local art house(!) theater, and I had a ball. It's such a fun flick. I remember watching this once on HBO oh, about 14, 15 years ago. I hadn't seen it since then, so it was great to see it again on the big screen.
I'm not sure why this movie is stuck in dvd limbo. Who owns the rights to it?
This movie would be perfect for Anchor Bay/Starz to release.

If you have access to HDNet Movies, they've had Night of the Creeps in rotation (in high-def, obviously). I don't know why it's not out on DVD, but if you're aching to see it, that'd be one alternative. 'Snot on the schedule any time in the next month, though.

It looks great too - though the threadbare fx are now even more obvious, it somehow adds to the campy, knowing fun of the film.

Channel surfing late one night, I happened upon this movie almost right at this point:
As Cindy stares in horror at the advancing hordes of dead frat boys, Chris hands her a huge shotgun.
Chris: "Here, hold this, you'll feel better."
My immediate thought: I must have this on DVD now.

HALLE-FUCKIN'-LUJAH!
It's finally coming this October!
Features are being done, and it'll be a director's cut with the original ending!
All I can say is, holy shit. About freakin' time.

Finally! Excellent news. Fred Dekker's enthusiasm really showed on the Monster Squad dvd set, hopefully we get a lot of quality extras with this. In anycase, I'm looking forward to it.

"...We're going to go balls to the wall with the special features on it."

Oh yea! I knew this was coming for a while, but nice to know they've got a rough date in place. This is one bootleg I've been waiting ages to retire.

Re: Night of the Creeps dvd?!
Excellent! I thought this was going to be one of those lame "have we heard any new info?" bumps that the Kill Bill thread keeps getting.
The original Director's Cut ending (or "Graveyard" ending), is, imo, the better ending, but hopefully they'll have the theatrical "Dog" ending on there with seamless branching (or at the very least, as an extra) for completeness sake. If they're truly "going to go balls to the wall with the special features", it seems silly to not include both endings.

Re: Night of the Creeps dvd?!
After recently re-reading my comment, I hope I come off like I'm DVD bashing.
Please don't take my Blu-ray comment as if I'm not happy about this DVD release. I couldn't be happier that we're finally going to get this. I was more poking fun at the fact that it's taken forever for this movie to get released on DVD format, which seems like it's been around forever now. I only wonder how long it will be until it's released on the next format.
