Part of me wonders if they saw how bad Halloween II did and figured the F13 sequel would probably suffer the same fate.

I agree with DJariya... if Nightmare does really well, I bet it's greenlit within a week.

It really is a shame that they'll be holding off on the Blu-rays of the rest of the F13 sequels.

This is EXACTLY why I actually like the remake!

Actually Halloween II may have been a let down compared to the first one, but it made double it's budget back, so that's not really a bad take.

Without Zombie of course. I have to admit, I really hated Halloween II in the theater but after seeing the director's cut and hearing Zombie's commentary the movie has really grown on me.

A friend of mine just saw the original F13 for the first time and wants to get the rest. He is asking me which direction is better in terms of extras?. The box set or the individual deluxe editions?. I have the box set. I only have the first F13 deluxe edition, so I can't really say how the rest of the deluxe editions are. In terms of content, which do you think would be the best way to go?.

In my opinion the individual deluxe editions are better. Each film has a commentary (except 2 & 3) and each has featurettes and other stuff. However, the box set has the documentary (which is just 8 featurettes edited together) and a commentary for 3 and I want different commentaries on 7 and 8, possibly 6 too I can't remember. But to me, I'd go with the DE, I also have the box set, but go with the DE.

Could somebody please tell me why friday the 13th part 3 blu ray, doesnt have the audio commentary with the cast from the dvd boxset??? I was looking forward to finally listening to it on the blu ray, since I never purchased the dvd set.Still love the blu ray and all , but im dying to hear that commentary!!!Maybe if the dvd set hits 20 bucks , ill buy it just to hear it.I just cant understand Paramount sometimes.Warner had the decencey to include both commentaries from the previous nightmare on elm street.

I'm more surprised when a BD actually carries over all the special features from all the title's DVD releases.

It wasn't on the DE DVD either. The commentaries on 6, 7 & 8 are all different as well.

I think it's interesting to note that the BD of part 3 actually HAS special features as opposed to the DE DVD which had no special features aside from the trailer and the 3D version of the movie.

Since the whole movie's in 3D, it can't be branched, and thus, there is no room on the disc for the movie in full twice and special features.

They had a whole bunch of different audio languages on that dvd, they surely could have fit a measly audio commentary.I think they were just lazy.

As much as you or I like commentaries, the inclusion or lack of inclusion of one isn't going to encourage or discourage Joe Six Pack to pull the trigger on the DVD. But the inclusion or lack of inclusion of Spanish audio might actually affect whether or not Juan Paquete de Seis buys one.

You have a good point there droidguy, im just hoping if they release a boxset down the line, on blu ray, the commentary gets returned.

They'd just buy the Mexican release, or rent it from a Mexican video store, just as those in Canada buy their special Canadian releases that come in French.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

Got the new set in the mail today. Got it for my son for xmas. The mask is small and cheap, but he will be able to wear it. The book is nice UNTIL you try to get the discs out. If your discs are not scratched to hell already from them putting them in there, you will scratch them putting them in and out 1-2 times. They didnt leave much room to slide them in easy when they glued the pages down. Dont understand why companies think sliding discs in pages is a good idea.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

How much bigger is the box than a regular DVD case? If put in a shelf between other DVDs, does it stick out much? How much taller is it?
If they could do the same thing, except with Blu-rays, I'd be sold.

Not a fan of sliding disks in and out of cardboard sleeves so I think I'm going to continue my (long) process of just buying each movie individually.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I actually picked up my first dvd of any of the movies - none of which I have seen in many years - an apparently new 4 disc set of the original movies (at Wal Mart for $13). It's the more recent deluxe editions too. I really don't care about any beyond 4th one anyway.

The set looks really good.

I have the first box set (From Crystal Lake to Manhattan), but I assume these are all the Deluxe Editions of each film?
