How are we supposed to tell you once and for all? This is dvdtalk not Paramount.

Different studio so very doubtful.

Though, His Name is Jason includes $5 MovieCash to see the remake (Newline) so who knows.

what is with $5.00 anyway? yes, it is something, but that doesn't even buy a matinee around me.

Its $5. If the disc costs you $10 and you planned on seeing the movie...then technically its like getting the HNWJ for $5.

I'm glad I got on here before I went out, was gonna pick HNWJ from Best Buy today, I guess I'll hit up Wal-Mart instead! Got the first BD, and the other 2 on In Store pickup at BB.

I saw around 6 copies this morning in the new release section. I also want to add that my copy has a $10.00 off ticket coupon inside and not a $5 off to see the new Friday The 13th.

Thanks just got back from Wally. They had about 8 copies of each. I held off buying HNWJ because I have t on my netflix queue and figured I'd only watch it once.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

Grabbed my copy of HNWJ at Wal-Mart, they were almost sold out with about 5 left. Mine also had a $10 off ticket for the new one, which is awesome!

I've only glanced at some of this stuff, but I think the 3D on part 3 looks pretty damn good for a DVD, the best I've seen on the few 3D titles I've ever seen. Also, the BD of part 1 looks phenomenal! I was blown away! Wish they would have done this for parts 2 through 8 as well.

I want the rest of them NOW! I'm gonna watch all of them before the new film comes out next Friday. I'm about to check out HNWJ now!

EDIT: Has it been confirmed that the R2 BD's will work on American players and TV's? I know it was a question at one point and I would like to know for a fact that it will work before I go ahead and buy them. I'm planning on picking up the R4 DVD of part 3 for the special features. I noticed on DVDaf.com that they list the R4 DVD of part 4 as being uncut, is this true? And if so where can I buy that?

$10 off or $5 off coupon?

As for the BDs - they are region free but the extras are apparently in PAL.

Sorry, I meant that this is probably the reason that Part 3 has no commentary.

why would one chain have a different coupon then the others? seems odd.

That's really weird that they are giving away different movie cash....

It may seem odd (which it does) but it's still awesome!

Mine is a review copy directly from the Anchor Bay PR group. It's possible the $10 is exclusive to Wal-Mart and not other retailers. Please let me know so I can update my review if mine is/was a fluke (now I gotta double check it...I think even my PR Sheet says $5!)

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

$10 movie cash makes sense with the cost of ticket prices today, $5 is bleh in my opinion. So if it's only $9 whatever at Wal-Mart and comes with a $10 free ticket. That's a great deal and I may pick it up. Originally I was not going to purchase anymore dvds for awhile. But considering I was planning on seeing the new film anyway. It kind of makes sense to pick it up. So I'll see for myself how much it is at the local store and what sort of ticket comes with it before I make my decision.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I just picked it up since there were only two left on the shelf, and it does come with a $10 ticket for the remake. So 2 discs,a poster and free ticket for $9.96+ tax is not a bad deal at all. Be aware that the ticket is not accepted at AMC theaters.

www.hollywoodmoviemoney.com is the site, where you can look for theaters that accept it in your area.

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

I was watching the deleted scenes from the box set today and....
Jason Lives:Friday the 13th Part 6 deleted scenes are decent quality....
They could easily be re-inserted into the film, hopefully they do that....
Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood needs the unrated cut the most but....
The quality is very bad so I'm not sure if they can clean them up to look decent.
Hopefully we get a few more unrated cuts for F13 but I doubt it....

Re: New "Friday the 13th" Box Set in the Works?

even though the uncut scenes would be great seen back in the film for Part 7, both 2 and 5 saw severe cuts to secure's it's R-ratings as well. The missing footage I would guess is permanently gone for the latter two, at least for Part 7, the uncut scenes are viewable albeit in pretty shoddy video on one of the bonus discs in the box set. 4 and 3 saw the most minimal of cuts.
