Alternate takes and deleted scenes are not the same thing.
A lack of deleted scenes in this case is due to the fact that Nolan and Co. planned it all out prior to shooting, removing scenes in the script they could tell wouldn't work and therefore wouldn't be worth shooting. That's my reasoning for it, anyway.

I'm certain there are scenes that were shot that didn't make it into the film. And of course there were alternate takes that weren't used in the final film. That's how filmmaking works.
However, none of that means that there is material that the filmmaker would consider "deleted scenes" to be presented on a DVD release. I believe the spirit of what Nolan said is that every scene that he wanted in the film made it into the final cut, so there are no "deleted scenes" to be shown. I'm sure there is plenty of material on the cutting room floor and Nolan simply wants to leave it there, which makes perfect sense.

From DVDActive.com:
They have a shot of the back cover confirming that the 2-Disc DVD also includes the IMAX scenes.

I REALLY want the Batpod collectible, but, unfortunately, it looks like it will only be for Blu-Ray. I don't have a Blu-Ray player. I hope that, somehow, they'll see that they should also release this for DVD buyers, as well
Edit: I had posted the images from DVDActive, but, since they are such assholes, it says that the images are exclusive to them. BULL. They are of a freaking DVD that EVERYONE will have. Anyway, if you want to see the images, just click on the link above.

Does it unsettle anyone that the two documetaries aren't listed?
I'm praying this will end up being another Departed - the Scorsese documentary being on the disc and them accidentally leaving it off the case - but knowing it's WB, I'm not holding my breath.

"In their original IMAX framing"....so not re-formatted to 1.78:1 or 1.66:1 like the Blu-ray will have but instead the original 1.43:1?
Funny how the DVD cover offers a LOT more information on the extras.

In fact, if the two documentaries are left off the 2-Disc DVD release, I may just pass on it altogether, and either get the single-disc, or just wait until I can afford to buy a high-definition set and Blu-Ray player. In that case, it will be quite a while before I pick it up, but, at least they won't be getting my money for a sub-par release.

I don't know what your problem is, but, back off. At any rate, clicking their link and making people go to their site is the reason they don't want people using images, which are not exclusive to them. Just as much bandwidth would be used by people visiting the site. So, your argument is invalid. Besides, I was actually just kidding about them being "assholes". I enjoy visiting that site, I just don't understand the whole "Images are exclusive" to them thing, because, they aren't.

As for Batman, I'll be picking up the Blu-Ray version. It's an instant day one purchase.

Yeah, i'm pretty sure that's the case and I think the name is Jason. I've just always thought it was silly to sign posts, but we've had that discussion before elsewhere
