Does anyone know if there is any special packaging (lenticular, etc.) or store exclusives for Pumpkinhead? I usually get movies the day they come out so I don't miss out, but it seems like it may be a while before I get this.

Had it in my hands at Frys. The back says...1.85:1 widescreen. Nothing about it being "ANAMORPHIC!!!"
I'll let someone else be the guinea pig to see if it's anamorphic. It's a bitch trying to do a return at Frys!!!

mgm/fox releases rarely mention anamorphic or 16x9...i'm sure it is though.

Fox, who distributes all of MGM's product, long ago stopped mentioning "anamorphic" on their DVDs. Perhaps it is done by an automated system that is glitching and nobody cares to fix it -- when I picked up the Coen Brothers box set, Raising Arizona says it's anamorphic on the back of the slimcase, and it's the only one in the set that is not. It's also like the only non-anamorphic release from Fox that I've known of since they've owned MGM's catalog, and it's the only release since then I've seen to mention anamorphic enhancement.

I haven't seen it in a while, but I remember it being a very good movie. As for reviews I haven't seen any. I liked the second one too, but part 3 I turned off after about 10-15 minutes. Never even bothered with part 4.

Amazingly I got my copy today, just ordered it yesterday from Amazon! I'm glad I didn't cough up the extra money for one day since I got it in one day anyway!
It has an hour long documentary, had no clue it was an hour long. The stuff on Child's Play is only about 25 minutes. I'm watching the documentary right now.

The documentary was pretty good, though they had a far too long part about the production design. I guess if you're into that kind of thing it's cool, but I'm not into production design.
The last part is about Stan Winston and I found it interesting that the documentary ends with "Stan Winston: 1946-2008" since he died shortly before this release, but they were able to squeeze that in. Stan Winston apparently had nothing to do with this collector's edition, there are no interviews with him for the documentary.
Also, I was a little saddened by the fact that the only audio is Dolby Surround, no 5.1 mix. Child's Play had a 5.1 mix, but not this. Oh well! At least it's anamorphic widescreen finally and it looks better than the crappy full screen DVD in picture quality.

Thank you for posting this. I just wrote to Amazon yesterday and asked for a refund because of the price drop. They granted it and dropped my order total down to the $13.99! Point is I never would of known it if you hadn't of posted the reduced rate. Thanks.

I think I'll wait as well. I broke down and rented the old version a couple of months ago. The movie is great but the transfer was awful. I do want the movie but my jones for watching it has been temporarily quenched.

monkees,
did your copy have a slipcover? mine didn't and had that lenticular eye on the wrapping. i took it off easily and put it inside the case, but thought it odd it wasn't packaged like CP.

FYI for all L.A. Pumpkinhead fans: Alec Gillis, Tom Woodruff Jr. and some other dude (I think the producer) will be at Dark Delicacies signing the new disc at 2pm this Sunday. Might be worth the trip for those who can't find it anywhere.
