They are already fetching ridiculous prices on ebay.

Sucks, I really wanted Framed and Phase IV

From: Macon, MO
I ordered The Man Who Could Cheat Death online a week ago and they shipped it out yesterday.

I exchanged some emails with Legend Films (very nice customer service, btw), and they contacted BB and the shipper Ingram to see what was happening to these titles. I had one title ship within a few hours (Man Who Could Cheat Death), and another go from "backordered" to "in process" (The Sender). Hopefully the rest of the titles will ship soon. Sounds like it was just BB being lazy.

The full email from Legend Films:

Hi Jerry,

That is great news! I had forwarded your email with highest priority on to
our team, the team at Best Buy, and the team at Ingram (the company that is
shipping the titles). Thank you for sending your emails and keeping me
abreast of what was happening with the online orders. I really think
everyone seeing your email with the "cancellation" notice lit a fire -
especially since I've been working on this issue since last week without
much response! I'm glad to hear that your product is shipping and I'm
hoping that it's the start of the repair on all of the backorder issues.

All the Best,
Lindsay

The "French Postcards" DVD is a real disaster. A lot of the music has been changed amd a whole scene of a character singing has been removed.

--Proof that emails do work. Thank you Legend!--

Hello Jerry,

Thank You for being so patient with us as we go through the motions of
distributing our titles. I am writing you with the update that I promised
and I apologize that it has taken so long to send you some new information
on our exclusive titles! We have spent the last couple of months in
negotiations with Best Buy and during that time we have received a number of
emails from people who were disappointed with the exclusivity agreement we
had made with them. We did take all of the feedback into consideration
during our negotiations and it personally gives me pleasure to let you know
that we are taking back those titles! As of this week, we will now be
selling the following titles on our website, www.legendfilms.com
<http://www.legendfilms.com> and at Amazon (for the standard retail price or
less) :

The Man Who Could Cheat Death
The Deadly Bees
Phase IV
The Sender
Framed

These movies will also be made available to other accounts, such as Movies
Unlimited and Discount DVD. It might take as long as 2-6 weeks for the
titles to be made available to the public from companies other than Amazon,
due to the ordering and shipping process.

Thank You again for your interest in our titles!

All the Best,
Lindsay

Wasn't sure where to post this, but it would be interesting if this footage ever makes it to a disc release.

This is a fascinating development, not quite on the order of finding London after Midnight or the full-length The Magnificent Ambersons but still a great find. Presumably Olive Films would be the ones to release this now? Phase IV isn't any more obscure than The Colossus of New York or The Space Children IMO, other Paramount/Republic properties that they have released on blu.

Jeez before I saw the OP date I thought Legend was actually releasing new movies again. Wish they would.

Wow, I missed that little gem about PHASE IV! I've been wanting to see that fabled ending for as long as I can remember.

This news provides a GREAT reason for Olive to release PHASE IV on Blu! I'd buy three copies just to support the release. (even if the bitrate is only 22 Mbits/sec).
