Masters of Horror Season 2 Box Set.
From Dread Central:
"Creepy checked in from the Weekend of Horrors again sometime throughout the night while I was resting, and sent along the pic you see below; Anchor Bay’s packaging for Masters of Horror: Season 2! Though I appreciated the “crypt case” Season One came in, this does seem far more appropriate. How they’ll be fitting the discs in there is, thankfully, not for me to figure out ... No word on a solid street date for it, either. Keep it here for more news from the Weekend of Horrors soon!"

I'll be buying it...Good news. Only saw 1 entire episode which was really good (Family) and some of another horrendous episode (We all scream for ice cream).
Look forward to the rest.

I wonder if season 2 will see a Blu-ray release? If so, I hope they don't split it into four volumes like they did with the first season.
If no BD release is made, I'll pick up the season 2 box set than. I'll look nice next to the season 1 box set I have.

Hell I'm in just for the packaging alone!
One thing about season one. It had a few really good episodes. But even on the weaker stories, the director profiles and commentaries generally made up for it.

^Indeed, I completely agree. I just went through the whole box (all episodes and extras) about a month ago. The extras were extensive (to say the least) and fun and informative. I know the extras wont be as god this time around but still look forward to the episodes. Also I am surprised at how well most of the episodes from season 1 are rewatchable and how they age pretty good upon repeated viewings. All in all Id say its one of the best anthology series DVD sets ever.

I have managed to watch all of the 2nd season episodes on Showtime. And, since I'm extremely bored playing online poker I'll waste some time highlighting the season.
Information and episode synopses taken from the all-powerful Wikipedia, followed by my very simple take on the episode.
Episode Director Title Overview
1 Tobe Hooper The Damned Thing
The apocalyptic tale of a monstrous force that devastates Sheriff Kevin Reddle’s family and terrorizes their small Texas community. Pretty cool idea but unfortunately fails to live up to the idea. Meh.
2 John Landis Family
This screenplay by Brent Hanley, tells the story of a young couple who move to a new city and soon find out that their neighbor is not what he seems. I liked seeing George Wendt - for me, it was like a blast out of the past. Like Landis' Deer Woman, this will either be a hit-or-miss with viewers. Since I enjoy his "black" humor, it was a hit for me.
3 Ernest Dickerson The V Word
This vampire film reveals the punishment visited upon two teenage boys who make the very poor decision to break into a mortuary. I found this to be silly, plodding and very cheesy which I believe is not what the director intended. Maybe he did though and I just missed the inside joke. So, yeah, I didn't like it but it was fun and cheesy to watch once...maybe.
4 Brad Anderson Sounds Like
Based on a short story by Mike O’Driscoll. The story of Larry Pearce, an ordinary man blessed with extraordinary hearing that drives him to the brink of insanity, and forces him to take violent action to silence the horrific cacophony in his head. It was decent. I'm a fan of Anderson's other work but this didn't shine like The Machinist or Session 9. Maybe he didn't have enough time, control over the script, etc. Either way, a decent effort but not one I feel like watching over and over again.
5 John Carpenter Pro-Life
Pro-Life tells the story of a young girl trapped inside a clinic, who discovers the only thing more dangerous than her pursuers is the demonic secret that she carries within her. Ron Perlman is about the only plus here for me which is unfortunate since John's season 1 episode "Cigarette Burns" is arguably the best episode in season 1. This felt like someone wrote the ending first and then tried to form the story around it. That may work sometimes but, for me, it didn't in this case.
6 Dario Argento Pelts
Fur trader Jake Feldman knows that you can't make a coat without breaking a few animals' necks. In his pursuit to make the perfect fur coat to win over a woman, Feldman steals supernatural raccoon pelts that violently turn against those that covet them. Based on a short story by F. Paul Wilson. A silly storyline to be sure but I really liked this episode. Argento lets the boobs and blood flow in this one - perhaps learning from the mistakes of his other directors. Meatloaf plays a scumbag really well and the beartrap scene is worth a rewind and a slow-motion replay.
7 Joe Dante The Screwfly Solution
The Screwfly Solution tells the story of a nightmarish plague that spreads across the globe, transforming men into psychotic killers who attack every woman that crosses their paths. Based on the eponymous Nebula Award-winning short story by Raccoona Sheldon. I remember that I watched this but I can't recall anything about this episode. Plot sounds interesting and Dante is cool but either I'm wrong about seeing it or this really is forgettable. I'm hoping for the former.
8 Mick Garris Valerie on the Stairs
This story tells the tale of a novelist who discovers there are fates worse than literary anonymity. I really found this entry fun and a great little watch.
9 Rob Schmidt Right to Die
After walking away from an auto accident that leaves his wife in a coma and on life support, a man must decide to let his wife die. But the situation becomes more nightmarish when her vengeful spirit threatens to expose a dirty secret of his own. Some people may like this episode but I found it kind of boring with no real surprises or scares. There is one inspired scene though towards the end that some may find disturbing.
10 Tom Holland We All Scream for Ice Cream
An ice cream man is accidentally killed during a childhood prank gone wrong. Now, years later after the kids have grown up, he returns for revenge. Yes, that is the synopsis seriously. And, for what it's worth - this tale plays it pretty straight in my opinion. Too straight. It got a lot of laughs from me but I wouldn't recommend it without a lot of drinks or some altering drug helping the cause.
11 Stuart Gordon The Black Cat
Edgar Allan Poe, suffering from writer's block and short on cash, tormented by a black cat that will either destroy his life or inspire him to write one of his most famous stories.I really enjoyed this episode although most of my enjoyment may have been seeing Gordon and Jeffrey Combs together again. I can't remember any specific details but recall it feeling pretty polished compared to other entries.
12 Peter Medak The Washingtonians
A man finds his family in danger after he discovers a shocking secret about the United States of America's founding fathers. Based on a short story by Bentley Little. Weird, that's all I can say. I'm a big fan of ideas that are far, far outside the box. This yarn qualifies but also disappoints. I really, really wanted to like this but it seemed like it went halfway for me. I feel like the material would have been better served had it not gone as far or if it had gone twice as far! The ending was "kitschy" in my opinion too - it must have sounded better on paper.
13 Norio Tsuruta Dream Cruise
Jack, an American lawyer working in Tokyo, has fallen in love with the wife of his most valued client, Eiji. Despite Jack's deep-rooted fear of the sea, he reluctantly accepts Eiji's invitation to join the couple for a day trip on the Tokyo Bay. Pleasure turns to terror as they discover the watery destiny in store for each of them. It's refreshing to see "J-Horror" in the series although this story is merely okay. It's mediocre really - not great but not terrible, either. As in, I don't mind that I watched it but I'll never watch it again.
EDIT: It took me a few hours to write this up. Thanks rum...thanks.

^Thanks for the reviews. I tuned out from this season after I saw PELTS (Thinking that nothing else in the season would top that---Looks like I was right)
I'll skip this purchase, but as others mentioned, that's some truly badass packaging.

Thanks for the reply Mondo. Yes, you would be right in assuming that Pelts was my favorite episode of the season. I'd probably say that The Black Cat and maybe Valerie on the Stairs are after that.
Still, and I forgot to say this in my drawn-out review, I will pick up this set when I find it new for $25-30. Even then, I'd may regret it but, damn it, a skull would look nice with my Blind Dead coffin!
On a side note, and I hope I'm not the only one who thought this, but I was wondering if scrubbing that Masters of Horror logo off of the skull would be possible.

The Screwfly Solution is quite good (and pretty unnerving), but except for the semi-obligatory "too hot for basic cable" stuff, it feels like it was meant for Masters of Science Fiction.

Very dissapointing. Sounds like season 2 is pretty much a festival of suck.
I'll probably still get it though. If its not TOO pricey. I think I paid around $35 for season 1.

Yea, it's a sweet looking set. I was there at Fango this weekend and I got to hold it in my hands. It's easily one of the coolest designs for packaging I've come across... in R1, that is. I'm definitely going to be picking it up.

One of the best packages ever! Initially I was going to buy R2 UK boxes same as the first season I have, to keep them identical, but with this case... No, UK boxes step aside.

Love the packaging. As everyone has said, I'd pick it up simply for the sweet packaging if it was cheap enough.
I was at Fango over the weekend and completely missed this set at the AB table. Checked out a couple of the upcoming Argento releases though.

Yeah, $30 would be an amazing deal any time after its release considering the amount of content and packaging. I guess even $40-50 would be a decent deal but I can't justify that cost. One has to assume the skull, no matter how cheaply made, had to cost them more than the S1 cardboard crypt.
My complete guess would be that this will be available for something like $89.99-$99.99 on release day. Anything outside that range by an appreciable amount would actually surprise me. I don't think it's too unrealistic to see it for around $55-60 6-9 months later with maybe some crazy Gold Box deal knocking off another $15-20. I can only imagine Deep Discount having a Buy 1, Get 1 Free with both seasons for something like $60-65/season way down the road = ~$30/season. Both of these sales will take place around Halloween 2008.
If I'm right, I'm psychic. If I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll hear about it.

I applaud the idea for this package. My one gripe is the skull isn't the same and distinctive one that is used in the logo. It would have been way cooler if they had modeled it closer to it.
