For the record, the animated rip-offs are NOT by Asylum. They are actually by multiple different companies.

This isn't asylum but i had to post it. I swear it is real even though it is hard to believe:

"Riding the lofty coattails of the international tween sensation, Taintlight is the tale of Stella, a young girl who falls in love with an ancient, beautifully-behaired bloodsucker named Edgar. They struggle to stay together in the midst of vampire carnage, but a love triangle bubbles up when a Michael Jackson-loving werewolf named Jack comes forward professing his own love for Stella. Meanwhile, a rival group of "real" vampires led by the evil Razor McBleed are on the prowl, looking to put the stake to Edgar so they can feast on Stella and the rest of Bonejack Heights in this over the top horror parody with tongue firmly in cheek!"

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

I have seen some of these movies...most are utterly horrible-but then again Invasion of the Pod People with hot bitchy models becoming sweet Lesbians had its charms . I do believe many average consumers pick them up at rental stores thinking it is another movie and that adds to the profit line.

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

Just an FYI, I was browsing Netflix Watch Instantly today and found a number of Asylum films, including Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus, 2012: Doomsday, and The Day the Earth Stopped.

Just watched 2012: Doomsday. Not only is it an Asylum cheap cash-in, it's one of those Left Behind/Omega Code things. Did you know the Mayans were actually Christians? You will after watching this movie!

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

Considering the actual 2012 movie looks like a cheap cash-in, I can't exactly fault them.

Re: ASYLUM DVDs - Dont they get sued?

They've gone 3-D. THE HAUNTING OF WINCHESTER HOUSE and SEX POT 3DDD are both available on DVD in magenta/green anaglyph in some packages. Glasses included, and the DVDs also contain a flat version.

I saw parts of HAUNTING... it was of course not a great movie but the 3-D was fairly effective; subtle with a couple of gimmick shots. I did notice a couple of psuedo scenes (the left and right was reversed, ruining the shot) but overall better than I expected.
