I'll get it, but only if it's $24.99 and not $34.99. Batman! The Movie is awesome, but it's not worth $40 fucking dollars.

It's Fox and Blu-Ray. Doesn't matter what it's 'worth', that's what they're charging for catalog titles.

It's LaserDisc all over again. And the studios wonder why so few are adopting the new format?

Anyways, Batman original series, that might be worth a premium, but I'm not upgrading my standard def disc, which if I remember was a WalMart bargain bin purchase for $5.50.

I thought that the original DVD release of this movie was fantastic already, considering the caliber of movie it is. I loved the commentary with Adam West, great fun. I picked this up as a blind-buy bargain for around $5 at Walmart, and I certainly don't foresee double-dipping, especially at $40. I would however pay $40 to see Yvonne Craig in HD in the TV series.

And this explains why BATMAN was in the Wal-Mart $5 bin.
A tip whenever you see a popular movie in the $5 bin means a spec. ed. is coming out.

I sincerely doubt THIS movie will push people toward Blu-Ray...

I already own the previous release ($5 at Wal Mart) so even if this had been released on SD, I doubt I would've bought it anyway.

Yeah, but this was in the bargain bin five years ago. If someone took that as a sign of an upcoming SE, they had a long wait.

For those who collect toys, a miniature batmobile will be included in a limited version of this release.

Would be curious to see if that gets corrected.
My thoughts exactly! Has it been corrected?

Apparently the standard DVD is identical to the 2001:
