Batman (1966) Special Edition in the works
From Mark Evanier's blog:
I'm sure this will come out at the same time The Dark Knight is released next year.
On Tuesday, I was interviewed on camera for one of those little "special feature" interviews that comes on a DVD — in this case, it's an upcoming release of the 1966 Batman movie starring Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith and Frank Gorshin but not (sigh) Julie Newmar, who was replaced in the Catwoman role by Lee Meriwether. The film's been available on DVD for some time but this is a more deluxe packaging with extra bells and whistles. I don't know when it's coming out...and to head off the obvious question, I don't think this means anything in terms of the Batman TV show being released on DVD.

Already own the other one. Unless they add something significant or it's cheap, I'll stick with that one.

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought for just a fraction of a second that they were finally going to release the Batman TV series. What a big disappointment. I'm not going to double dip for this one.

I really believe the last DVD was misframed. In the final scene where the world leaders are restored, you can't see the name plates of their countries. If I wasn't so familiar with seeing the movie unmatted on TV, I might have missed the joke in that shot.
Would be curious to see if that gets corrected.
