Of the ones I'm collecting that seem stalled, in order of how much I'd like to see them completed: Mad About You, Cheers, Sliders, King of the Hill, Boomtown

Waiting with cash!

M.I.A.

I red flag TV season titles only when they go more than 52 weeks since the last release. Here's are the titles that I'm waiting for that haven't been released for over a year:

Date of . . . . weeks
last. . . . . . . since last
release . . . . release . . . . . Next season to be released
==================================================
10/29/02 . . (257 weeks) . . Malcolm in the Middle – (season 2)
08/24/04 . . (162 weeks) . . Night Gallery – (season 2)
02/08/05 . . (138 weeks) . . Night Court – (season 2)
03/22/05 . . (132 weeks) . . Kojak – (season 2)
07/19/05 . . (115 weeks) . . Sliders – (season 4)
08/23/05 . . (110 weeks) . . Adam-12 – (season 2)
09/06/05 . . (108 weeks) . . Rocky & Bullwinkle – (season 4)
09/13/05 . . (107 weeks) . . Taxi – (season 4)
10/01/05 . . (104 weeks) . . Adventures of Pete & Pete – (season 3)
11/01/05 . . (100 weeks) . . War of the Worlds – (season 2)
12/06/05 . . ( 95 weeks) . . Green Acres – (season 4)
03/21/06 . . ( 80 weeks) . . Huff – (season 2)
05/02/06 . . ( 74 weeks) . . King of the Hill – (season 7)
05/02/06 . . ( 74 weeks) . . Leave it to Beaver – (season 3)
05/16/06 . . ( 72 weeks) . . Hill Street Blues – (season 3)
06/13/06 . . ( 68 weeks) . . Cheers – (season 9)
06/20/06 . . ( 67 weeks) . . Mary Tyler Moore Show – (season 5)
06/20/06 . . ( 67 weeks) . . NYPD Blue – (season 5)
07/18/06 . . ( 63 weeks) . . Amazing Stories – (season 2)
08/01/06 . . ( 61 weeks) . . Hazel – (season 2)
09/19/06 . . ( 54 weeks) . . Battlestar Galactica – (season 3)

Number of weeks is calculated as of today: October 02, 2007

Mad About you is on my list but it won't go 52 weeks overdue until February 2008.
St. Elsewhere is also under 52 weeks since the last release.
Emergency! is less than 52 weeks past due.
Without a Trace (season 2) is only about 26 weeks old

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Amazing Stories or Night Gallery.

funny thing that most of my abandoned series are Sony shows:
The Facts Of Life
Diff'rent Strokes
One Day At A Time
Maude (well, I was able to finish the series through other means, but if made available, I'd buy season 2 onward)

Facts is the one I'm most eager to complete, I feel like the shows best seasons are still ahead of it.

Basically all of the ones mentioned; Cheers, King of the Hill, Hill Street Blues, NYPD: Blue, The Larry Sanders Show, The Jefferson’s, Barney Miller, St. Elsewhere, Without a Trace, Hunter, Kojak, the list goes on & on…

I collect a sh*tload of TV Shows on DVD & although a lot of the series I’ve collected have made it all the way, more of em’ should really make em’ all the way, from start to finish.

Now I still get upset when only one season is released & they don’t release anymore, but when they’ve already released 4 seasons (NYPD: Blue) on DVD, I think it should be the LAW, that they release the remaining seasons. King of the Hill has six seasons on DVD & then, just like that, Fu*k us all who bought them. Not only is it a fu*k in the face to the people who’ve bought the DVDs, it’s just plain out poor support by FOX to the ‘Loyal Fan’s’ who’ve bought they’re product.

I can however, see from they’re side that it’s still a business. It’s just that when the business involves DVDs, it’s personal.

Gimme A Break
Kate & Allie

S2's for both are available from an independent Canadian distributor, but even those have gone more than a year now. Only S1's in the U.S.

And the King of The Hill thing is just sad. One of my favorite shows.

Alice...

Just to hear Flo tell Mel to kiss her grits for more than just the one disc with a couple of episodes on it that came out a couple of years ago...

Sort of a Catch-22: lower sales for people who hold off result in companies not seeing much value in continuing to release seasons of these shows. These complete series sets are probably also taking a bite out of prospective buyers of single-season sets.

I second this! It really bums me out that they haven't released anymore. Having only the first two seasons without the rest is like torture, it almost makes me think I'd have preferred they not release any at all if they were just going to tease the people with two seasons and then stop!

Legal entanglements and low sales seem to me to be the most likely causes for delay or an incomplete release schedule. I doubt we will get much information on the first problem, but does anyone know of a site with good sales numbers for TV-on-DVD releases?

Once and Again is still on my list as well.

GI Joe, too, but who knows when Sony will ever get around to redoing those sets after taking them from Rhino.
