Played "Dr. Cyclops" last night. No freeze problems to report (thank god!)

Last time, I bought several of these (for the exclusive bonus disc) and sold them on ebay for maybe $5 profit.

Is it evil of me to buy a few extra and hope to make $5-10 profit on each to pay for the one I'll keep?

Why go through the hassle for $5? You could've helped out fellow DVDTalkers for the same amount of profit.

Hell, if I can't find a copy I'd be willing to pay $10 more.

I forgot about that exclusive disc. I never watched it, but if I recall it was something for Battlestar Galatica. I remember being confused when I found that disc in the set because I didn't get the connection, other than it being a Universal show.

It's a free country and you can do whatever you want. For me, Ebaying is annoying when it's something brand new and you suspect you can't find one in the stores because ebay sellers are snatching up copies. I remember having to go to several Targets to find their exclusive Grease DVD with the pink ladies jacket. It was on the first day of release and it was already gone in my neighborhood when I went searching after work. I did find one, but I had to do some traveling that night. A co-worker waited a day or so and never was able to find one for his daughters. I felt bad for him. (But I still kept my copy )

Actually, I've decided that ebay is almost no hassle. Now that you can print postage thru paypal, it is super easy to do everything involved in the sale in my down time at work. The only hassle is occasionally having to buy packing envelopes, but I usually buy enough on ebay to have a small supply of those.

And actually, it looks like they are selling swiftly for $39 buy it now, so I only have to sell one to pay for the one I'll keep.

Do you think they'll be selling for double this time next week? I'd say probably not, but who knows? I never would have thouhght the first set would sell for what it did.

I passed by two Best Buy stores last night and one had 15 copies of the sci-fi collection and the other only had 5.

The sticker that says "while supplies last" makes me think this set will be as limited as last year's.

It makes sense that BB would want to exploit an exclusive release to get foot traffic in the store, rather than people efficently clicking on line.
And if that is the case, and this exclusive is 'store-wide' only- then I think the value of the each set just shot up.

I'm already surprised at how much (more) I'm enjoying this set than Vol. 1.
I won't be surprised if this is sold out within 3 months- Unless multiple purchases by a bunch of speculators convince BB to have Universal get out a seond run. And if that were to happen, then the market would likely be saturated for some time, and those speculators would end up getting burned.
Not out of the realm of possibility.

Figured I'd give it a second shot and went to the main Best Buy here. They had 6 or so there. I'm happy.

Yay, got one today. I forgot all about this until this thread bumped back up. Shit load at new Murfreesboro, TN store. Watching Dr. Cyclops, looks great though it is the first time I've seen it.

Got mine today ~ gorgeous packaging, although bizarre that "The Leech Woman" is the odd title that gets it's own disc. There were thirteen copies after I left.

just finished watching 4 of the 5 movies. The prints were very good - far better than I expected. Didn't care for the movies, though.. I give Vol I 5 stars, and Vol II 2 stars. But it sounds like others are enjoying these more than I did.... so to each their own, as I say.

The first 20 minutes of Dr. Cyclops and Cult of the Cobra were good (hence why not a bomb rating), but after that I had trouble resisting chapter skipping/fast forwarding or ejecting the discs altogether...

There has GOT to be better Universal owned scifi films than these..Vol I was such a hoot....oh well, I'll be looking out for Vol III anyhow in hopes.

My nearest Best Buy had about a dozen copies. I picked one up. I almost bought an extra to sell in case they become valuable, but decided against it.

I found it on the Best Buy site...I think I'll order for pick-up. Dr. Cyclops was a favorite as a kid.

My BB had about 12 copies. I grabbed one up because I don't want to be in a mad dash for one if they start selling out.

The first volume had a couple of movies that were legit 50s sci-fi classics, but honestly this volume is pretty terrible. Really depends if you are into this type of B movie Sc-Fi. I definitely am on horror and will pick that one up despite several of the films being terrible.

I have to admit I almost bought this on impulse (my Best Buy had a dozen or so) but can't imagine watching any of these movies outside of an episode of MST3K.

Link? I've been searching and do not see it at the BB website.

I found the Universal horror release for Oct 2:
Best Buy Universal Horror

Could this be the Sci Fi collection???
Best Buy Sci Fi
