Re: All SAW editions
I picked up the special edition at Target. It's identical to the one BB has (and in the video), but it's only $22.99 there. I saw no mention of a digital copy on the packaging, but I really don't care. While I think it's cool, I was disappointed to see the saw blade is cardboard, and most of them are slightly warped, causing them to not spin properly.

I have to say, I have high hopes for VI. The director, Kevin Greutert, is an active member of the house of jigsaw and is answering a ton of questions. He seems like a really cool dude.
He stated that saw IV-VI writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunston will definitely provide a commentary track for VI. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say.

So the collector's edition only has a spinning blade? There isn't a 2nd disc?

Re: All SAW editions
thats a huge relief, I was debating on getting the regular version if this was not the director's cut.
now what about the digital copy, I purchased it at Target and it advertises with a digital copy but I see nothing about it on the case itself nor on the dvd, is this just a typo?

Re: All SAW editions
I got my collectors edition today from amazon but sadly it appears the batteries are dead, any idea on if it's possible to change it? I would send it back but it appears its not in stock any longer there.

That is awesome, but the music should really play 'till the low note.
I'm pretty annoyed that I could have nabbed this at Target for less. I might try to take in the ad next week and get my price adjusted retroactively, although I know if I really want it to happen, I should do it now.
As for the chronological version, I might actually say there is reason to believe that one is coming. I don't know if the plan remains the same, but pre-IV, the thought was that VI would wrap up the entire series (I'm sure this plan can be true, to an extent, whether LGF makes a VII or not). I think a lot of people who aren't really fans of the series don't follow the plot of the series as closely, and may or may not be confused seeing the movies in theaters.
If LGF really does construct a massive chronological cut, then it seems like now might theoretically be the time. I was thinking about how one would be cool, watching Saw V. I wonder how much shorter the movies would become.

Picked up the Unrated Director's Cut. I decided the Collector's Edition wasn't worth the extra $6 for a digital copy and the spinning saw.
I think I'm going to be alot more selective on these so called "Collector's or Special" editions. If it's a 2nd disc with some substance, then I won't mind spending the money. But, I'm going to pass on these gimmicky toys.

Eh, the 3D thing is gonna get outta hand soon. As much as I love Saw, i think it should end at 6. How much more can you do? Ill take a chronological 12 hour Saw in 3D.

You're right, VI really is where it should end. And I hope the ending is at least as satisfying as the end of III.

Re: All SAW editions
Saw is the most profitable horror franchise of all time. They certainly aren't going to stop, but I still think at VI, if it really does tie up the current arc with a big bang, the principals (Hackl, Armstrong, Greutert, etc.) are all going to take their leave.
